  1. Welcome, and congrats on the pending 535! They are undeniably great guitars!
  2. Mark, your tale really resonated with me. I could go on and on...so I'll try not to. We had a pretty good band going for nearly five years. Great venues, festivals, opened for a number of national acts, several multiple times. We demanded and got better money than most of the acts at our level. We produced three studio and two live albums, of which we're mighty proud. We have two tunes on a You Tube channel with over 80,000 hits. There were...or my business partner and I publicly said there were multiple reasons for euthanizing the band a year ago. But there was one root cause. Our very talented frontman, a crowd favorite, was a toxic personality. And he was directly or indirectly responsible for several episodes such as yours, not to mention being pretty abusive to one of the band. We tried, all four of the rest of us, and mightily, to cover, compensate and apologize for, and explain away his behavior. In the end, he was the end of it. We really were at the top of our game, but now Ed and I often reflect on what a great decision pulling the plug was. Sure, there are aspects of performing I miss, but just to excise this guy from the lives of the rest of us was worth it. Good luck!
  3. Get some black felt fabric, two yards of it. Cut it into several smaller ( 1 to 1 1/2 feet in length) pieces and gently feed those, one at a time, into both "F" holes. Also, learn where to stand, relative to the amplifier, to reduce feedback. Don't use a stand for your amp, which aims the amp directly up, at you and the guitar.
  4. Any friend of Vince's is a friend of ours.... Welcome, Logan. Love that your first post is a vid of the 535 in action. Nicey nice! They are remarkable instruments! You playing through just the Excelsior, or the Orange as well. Rig info? And good job on the tune, everybody!
  5. Still in love with this one! Long gone....
  6. Sigh...! For me, this is the one that got away....
  7. Right, bolero. Having just retired from teaching, I had no pupils. Had no class, either....
  8. Gorgeous color!!! Gorgeous figure!!!
  9. Boy, does this speak to my current lust for an acoustic archtop! Rob, I have a P-90 Super Eagle. What a box! Love your pics, and your Super and L5 are lovely! Great color on the L5!
  10. Yo, fellas! Ken is a good pal and will have a lot to say about amp guts, vintage spec, and woodwork, I hope. He's a primo cat, and knows his stuff! Some of you have already auditioned his work at PSP's II and III. Ken built the cabs for both The Note, my green 30W piggyback (PSPII), and The Felix, my 25W two-tone combo, through which Vince played at PSPIII. His new VSB 150 is a stone player with a few bumps and bruises, and exquisite tone! (Thanks for the kudo, Fred!)
  11. About time! Welcome, man. I think you'll enjoy most of what transpires here. Looking forward to seeing the plank....

  12. Welcome, Duffy. Nice pile of stuff you have there. And yes, it is time for a Heritage. Spend just a bit of time casting around here, and you'll find a wealth of information, tons of experience and informed opinion on Heritage guitars, and a bunch of terrific folks. The "Bay Watch" and "For Sale" sections offer any number of good instruments, regular turnover, and the HOC "staff" offering up informed opinions and practical observations. Enjoy!
  13. I've been out of this loop too long...sorry! Lots of new cats weighing in, and lots of great looking Heritages! Welcome all! You've all posted at least once, now get on with it! So many good folks, so much valuable experience here. What a terrific site....
  14. Welcome, 'Ox! Very nice 150! And those Music Man amps will blow out a three alarm housefire at 100 yards!

    '94 H576

Interesting to see this piece! My 576 is a '90, and it has a stop tailpiece. Nice to see another one with bound headstock and block inlays. These are great guitars! Very versatile!
  17. I've been out of touch with this thread for a while, ashamed to say. Tim's (Gitfiddler's) post says it all. Just like to extend a welcome to the big influx of newbies we've had recently, many of whom have dived right in! Welcome all!
  18. Nice looking 150, morbid'. I like the color on that one, and welcome to the forum!
  19. So, Bernhard, do clocks in Germany run faster or slower than the clocks in the States? And how many hours in a day for you? Seriously, welcome to the forum. Nice looking Heritages!!
  20. They all do, Haye!! They all do!! Welcome to the forum!
  21. Explain why you shouldn't want one? No can do, man!
  22. Let me add my welcome to Bird's, backline. This is not a bad place at all to spend time when you really should be working.... "...classy patina and finish checking," that's what I like to hear! :this_thread_is_useless_withou
  23. Welcome, 'wood! My kind of top on that 140! Just the right curl and mineral streaking! Cool!
