$1K for a couple of pickups? You could likely buy a decent guitar for that. Obviously Gibson is not a not-for-profit organization. Pass.

The footwear (if any) you have on while standing may have something to do with it. Yes, I'm grasping at straws. But try different shoes, or no shoes, and see if anything changes. Of course, it could just be your electrifying personality at work here.

My first reaction to this would be static electricity as well. Had a Kirn Tele that drove me nuts....just touching the (plastic) pickguard would cause the noise. Lining the underside of said pickguard with aluminum foil and making sure the foil was grounded to the control plate solved the problem, but I have no idea how you'd improve the grounding on a semi-hollow. Perhaps the humidity level where you're playing is low?

You know, there was a time when Fred would just let any stranger who wandered by try out the Centurion. This pic is from the 2010 PSP. All I remember about it is that it's BIG (I think I was playing an H137 at the time) and I'd better be damn careful with it. A masterpiece.

Well, the site has certainly got over its latency tendencies, which is greatly appreciated. For a long time I've been thinking all those electrons had to slow down before they jumped over the border, but I'm glad someone found a way around that.

My old eyes are seeing a different finish on the back of the headstock compared to the back of the neck. If the back of the headstock was at some point refinished, someone may have decided to do away with the serial number, assuming there was one. Speculation's free, right?
Can you identify this '03 Heritage finish?

If it's like my H150, the label will be on the underside of the control cover plate....
