When I took my Johnny Smith back to Heritage, Ren looked at the Spruce tops grain, which was slightly wide, he said "don't worry it will still sound good". Up to then I hadn't worried or even been aware of the effect grain width could have on the sound. I always listen to Ren. Ha.

Heritage made quite a few custom versions of their standard guitars. I met a guy at one of the PSPs that had 2 Heritage Johnny Smiths that were 16" wide.

The Mangans are different, different good. You've got to be careful with the wound strings when you put them on. Crimp them before cutting the ends off or you'll end up with a dead string.

Try these strings next time, they are different.

Strymon makes good stuff. Anytime you spend an hour playing a Millie is a Fab day.

Fab guitar. I think asb refers to " Antique Sunburst". There might be a sticker under the control plate with this information. -
Heritage 535s are thinner front to back measured at the edge.
