Welcome, Katie.  I think you will find that even when we sometimes gripe about Heritage it is done with deep affection and hope for the continuation of the tradition the company represents to us.

It's like griping about family.  You still love 'em, you just wish they'd wise up!  ;D

Katie~ Welcome aboard this listing ship of fools, me lady!  This is a very special place for Heritage-a-holics to hang out.  I am so glad you decided to hang with us.

And I do have one question for you...

How can someone who works at Heritage, ONLY have two of their guitars?  I'd have to build a room addition for all of the stuff that would follow me home from work if I worked there!  8)

Ok sorry about the no show...

Here is the Eagle.

This is the 150.  It is not blueburst it is of my own design.  Sorry boys you won't be buying this color.

It has a yellow middle with just enough blue to feather into a green.  An absolute masterpiece!!

I also added abalone dots in fret board,  abalone truss-rod cover, and inlay on head stock.

And as far as only having 2 and working, we are only allowed to buy 1 a year and I'm not sure what I want next.

So many choices when you walk your own through the line.

Thanks for the welcoming!!

Great googly mooglies, you have two very nice guitars!  The Eagle looks different without a pickguard, er, finger rest and floating pup.  I like it!

You want an H-157 in black and tan and with all nickel hardware!  No, wait, you want an H-575 Mahogany Custom with a Benedetto floater!  No, no, you want a Firebird-style BASS!!!  Hey, Heritage isn't hiring any IT people, are they?  I might consider relocating...LOL.

Beulahbones, it's just great to read the first posts of someone whose hands probably helped create my unbelievably fantastic 555. My appreciation for Heritage runs deep. Hope you'll feel at home around here. Your 150 looks unique. And the Eagle looks like it just has that good woody soulfulness of a hand-made, user friendly, genuine Kalamazoo guitar. You're among friends here. Now I'm imagining a blueberry burst Roy Clark. Or Prospect Custom, or H157 or....wow.

Outta town yesterday, and I just caught up with this thread.  Someone who works at Heritage!  Fabulous!  Now we have some actual credibility!  Welcome, Katie.  I hope you won't allow the faint odor of testosterone to prevent you from posting once in a while.  Please let everyone at Parsons Street know how much their work means to us!  We revere what you all so obviously put your hearts and souls into.  Thanks!

Welcome to the HOC, Roy!

We REALLY want you to be able to add a Heritage to your signature list of cool gear.  ;D

Keep your eye on Ebay and Gbase and Craigslist for your H-150.  They seem to come onto the market in groups.

Good hunting! 8)

Greeting, everyone.  I will be a new H-157 owner when my guitar arrives tomorrow.  :headbang:

Since I don't have it yet, I obviously can't post pics, but here is the auction in question:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...N:IT&ih=008

Background:  basically, I'm a fusion/metal guy who has been playing primarily Jackson guitars for many years now.  But back when I started in the early '80s, I was a big fan of Les Pauls, and the sound of a screaming LPC has always been the 'sound in my head.'  My ideal lead guitar sound is somewhere between "Inner Mounting Flame" era John McLaughlin, late '70s Frank Zappa, Robert Fripp, Al DiMeola, and John Sykes of Whitesnake fame.  You'll notice lots of Les Paul Customs involved there.  ;D

I had gone away from 24.75" scale guitars, but getting an ESP Maverick recently reintroduced my love for guitars with that scale length (my carpal tunnels like it better, too), and the natural move was to get back to a Les Paul.  Problem.  My beloved late '70s - early '80s LPCs now sell for absolutely absurd prices even if they're beat to hell.  Folks, they were pumping those things off the assembly line like Chevrolets--why do they sell for $2,500+???  In earlier times, I had a '76 three-pickup LPC in natural finish that was a barnburner--a '77 just like it sold on eBay in the last couple of days for over $2,600, with plenty of wear and tear.  Stupid.  And the new Les Pauls?  The ones I've played never feel right to me, and I certainly don't have the dosh for one of those Historics, nor the desire to spend that much.

I've known about Heritage for a long time and was tempted to bring home a used H-150 I played years ago.  But with my Les Paul jones firmly back in place, I did some research--and it really seems like Heritage has got something going on.  So, I've pulled the trigger and eagerly await my new baby.  The thing I like about Heritage is that they are committed to making great guitars, period.  The price factor is nice, but I wouldn't have bought if they were nothing more than a "budget Gibson."  There are plenty of budget imitations available if one is willing to import something from a Japanese dealer.  I want the real deal.

Oh, and for the curious, here is my MySpace page with a whole bunch of audio (mostly recorded with my trusty 1990 Jackson Soloist Pro):  http://www.myspace.com/councilofone

And yes, I'll be posting pics and a full report soon...

When I bought my first heritage it was the same scenario. The dealer was unloading the rest of their Heritage guitars and they had a black beauty and the cherry bust. I bought the Cherry burst but that Black Beauty was sweet. It was a hard decision.

That's a nice looking guitar. congrats and welcome!

My name is Dan (bukmdano) and I live in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky which located about five miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio.  I'm the proud owner of two H150's. A flame top done ine translucent amber with S/D antiquities and a quilt top down in almond burst with S/D Seth Lovers.  I'm really a lousy guitar player.  But I love sitting down in the living room and giving it a go anyway.  I'm primarily a piano and organ player. I've got a Mason & Hamlin studio grand and what else but a Hammond B-3 with Hammond and Leslie tone cabinets that I''ve been playing since I was 12 years old.  I'm 54 now.  I grew up listening to The Ventures and hence my desire from an early age to learn how to play the guitar.  But time and finances didn't permit it in my youth.  My parents had already spent a fortune (at least to my family) on the piano and organ.  So the chances of me learning then were pretty slim.  Thanks to Heritage and  Jay Wolfe I have acquired serious GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome) and have an H575 Classic on cutom order with Mr. Wolfe right now.  It's been eight months since Mr. Wolfe booked the order with Heritage (right after they opened back up) so I've been anxiously waiting for that email from Mr. Wolfe telling me that it has arrived.  Needless to say I can hardly wait.  I promised Jay Wolfe that I wouldn't be a nuisance and bug him about when it would be in my hot little hands but I was assured that they have started whittling on it by now and they are turning around their orders faster.

I enjoy reading all the threads posted on the HOC.  I particulary liked the comment that Jay's inventory is AAA guitar porn.  I know it certainly is stimulation for me but in a innocent wholesome manner.

Take it easy everybody and thanks for the opportunity for me to introduce myself.

Dan

Fusion-dude,

Most excellent axe.. Just like mine.. except that it's not mine of course.. I know you'll love it. I just put '59's on mine swapping out the original Schallers, so it's a good move to get it with 59's already in there. If you want to feel really really good about your new purchase. Play your new guitar some, then go down to your local guitar shop and try some of the g-word models and notice that they either (a) pale by comparison or (B) cost several $k more..

Enjoy..
