Last 555 question ....upper fret access

I have found that my 535 does not have the same access as my 76 335. That may be because they change the 335 design over the years. Also the cut of the lower ear on the 535 is slightly different.

The only thing easier than the upper access on my 535 is my Guild S100. The heal really doesn't bother me at all, much less than a Fender bolt-on neck. I have no problem reaching the top two frets, but I don't really play that high very often. I think both the 335 and 535 joins the neck at the 19th fret.

There's no comparison to the access of a 150, 525 or 575. It almost effortless.

Exactly accurate!

You are planning on playing Metallica on a semi-hollow?! :icon_scratch:

The only semi that had amazing access to the 22nd fret was a Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion. It's got a HUGE cutaway!

Here's one I used to own (traded it to get another Heritage).

It's not really about the sound or style

It's a question of when I teach

My 575 can't go up there

The 525 is okay but only goes to 20

It's a pain trying to teach when I can't access the notes

At least with a semi like this I'll manage to play the notes

I think it'll serve me in that sense PLUS it'll do the jazz/soul stuff for my band...
