Picked up one of these today. post-5571-0-38609000-1486422449_thumb.jpeg

This picture is from the Humbucker music website, but mine is exactly the same in terms of color and whatnot. I don't have my camera on me right this second because I left it at home and I'm in my studio, but I'll post picks later this week. I'm also going to record the amp and maybe even do a video for you all. This thing is simply amazing, end of story. Here's a link from Dr. Z's website, in case you want to check out the specs and whatnot.

I got mine at Dave's Guitar Shop in Lacrosse, WI. Class set of guys that work there, and the price is amazing at $1299

I know, I know, I sound like and advert for it all, but really, wow, it's that good. Think Fender clean without the ear piercing bite in the top end. Also, the level control and master, along with the gain, are very interactive. This thing really does get quiet and remain the same, tonally. 33 lbs and an effects loop. Again, wow!

Just wanted to share the joy, but I'll be sure to post pictures and do some recordings for you. The ones online don't do it justice in the slightest. If you gig, or just play in the bedroom, this amp is a game changer, seriously.

I am, for the first time since picking up guitar, blown away with a piece of gear.

Hope you're all well!

M

Thanks for posting that! Just been fiddling with the variable EQ boost. Sound amazing. Thinking of throwing my boost pedal in the ocean. I don't need it anymore!

I was looking at the Cure myself. I did not think it would be loud enough to be used live with the band.

If you don't want the boost pedal send it to me. If you do throw it in the ocean put it in watertight package and maybe the current will bring it my way.

Now THAT is the kind of amp that a Heritage guitar deserves to be played through!!! No Chinese dime-a-dozen price point poo here! Those Z-guys build nice amps. Cathode bias setup means no bias setting, warm and creamy tones result, a 5y3wgt will get that amp singing with a darker, creamier edge at a slightly lower volume. Tube rec/cathode bias is a good recipe for smooth sustain...there is some compression in that setup which makes for easy, forgiving to play through...musical sounding expressions from the fingers.

The money spent is a great value in this case, particularly the longer that the amp is retained and played through. Five years later the cost will be forgotten and the tones will be both great memories and instantly available.
