je00143
I had an opportunity to hear Mimi Fox play her 575 Custom Signature model. She was going thru a Fender Deluxe amp. I had a second row seat and, to be honest, I had a very hard time figuring out where the acoustic side left and the amp side took over. It was seamless. What a wonderful performance!! If you get a chance, listen to Mimi play She's Leaving Home from the new San Francisco String Trio CD. The sound and the technique will leave you breathless........ Vanschoyck
She is fantastic. May I ask, which Fender Deluxe? Was it an old tweed or the new tweed? Could you tell?
Vanschoyck
Or maybe a brown Deluxe?
Gitfiddler
Mimi is such a powerhouse jazz player! Here she plays a few of her Heritage archtops.
Hfan
Thanks for that Gitfiddler, really enjoyed it. Beautiful Heritages too, I'm also curious about what amps she uses, love her tone. Did a quick google for MiMi Fox Gear and here is her website, no mentions of amps but the link for the Heritage brought me to their new web page, pretty cool. http://www.mimifoxjazzguitar.com/gear.html
rwinking
Was that a Gibson strap she was using? I have one of those straps but thought it might be a sacrilege to use it on a Heritage. Now it looks like I have permission.
