I think the neck on that one is thicker than a '59, more like a '56.  A GREAT sounding guitar.....

I would say "Dibbs" but Josh has managed to hold on to his Custom 535 for like a year now (it has to be some kind of a personal best).

So has the man changed his ways.... hmmmm.....

It’s thinner than my 535, definitely thinner then Yoopers R7 Gold Top

DB, a wise man (aka Yoslate) told a good bit of advice.... "Just play the f**king thing"!!!

Whatever the exact specs of the neck, it's the biggest necked Heritage I have ever owned and more importantly a GREAT sound & playing guitar.

Right on DB. Happy to see you with a 150 in the stable, and with P90's no less. Now you can work on your "Boston" riffs.

Without going to far astray....what are you playing through these days? I'm trying to conjure an aural image....

go bold with gold, the north woodsman said,

as his friend assessed his new mistress

grasping the neck and nodding approval,

for it’s girth did ably impress

“Needed another?” some might have asked

Not aware of the common disease

“GAS” takes no prisoners, the man knew well

For he’d long ago buckled his knees

to the maladies endless unsettled nature

he’d long since surrendered resolve

and yet on occasion you’d still hear him mumble

“I’m good. No more. I’ve evolved”

Yet into the Quilter Steiner’s cable does “click”

He grins and says “get thee behind me”

With a twist of the knob justification wins

“This bad boy’s sportin’ P90’s”

P-90s need to be played on their terms.

They're going to be warmer and fuller sounding, especially in the neck. If you linger on the bass strings, it can sound "muddy" to some, especially with a load of OD or distortion. Play the upper frets or go for some clean jazzy, smokey blues style on the neck. I embrace the "mud", in a clean way.

Or better yet, don't worry about the neck. The bridge pickup is where the action is. Use the volume knob. LP Jrs. have all they need at the bridge. So does yours.

Kuz, I was only explaining not complaining.

new learning curve, I’m doing my best to dial in the amp and guitar controls to find some pleasing tones.

Here some suggested settings for you....

-Amp = on

-OD Pedal = on,  plugged into amp

-Guitar = turn up Vols & Tone, plugged into OD Pedal,

Resulting of settings = P90 heaven

Welcome to the Heritage GT P-90 club! So I know Yoop and I have identical Heritage GT's as you do. Wonder who else does.....

Glad you didn't settle on another brand of goldtop man, this one beats em all!

"oh how thou gold does shine

thee fiddle I now call mine

thee tone screams loud P-90

forever she'll treat me finely"

Funny, I always thought of it as more of a GT P-90 cult than a club!

I think you are right Dave, it is indeed a cult!
