NAD - Dr. Z Z-Master

Recommended Posts

Just picked up a new Dr. Z Z-Master amp from Doc this afternoon.  It's a Joe Walsh Signature amp.  Joe asked Doc recreate his '59 Tweed 3x10 Bandmaster that he traded to Pete Townsend.  Power tubes are 2 5881s; preamps are 3 12ax7s and a 5AR4 rectifier tube along with 3x10" Z speakers made specially for this amp.

It is the first prototype Doc made.  The controls are the same just different names.  Mine was labelled like an original Bandmaster for the initial build.  Doc offered to put the production faceplate on it but I liked the prototype.  I have a number of Doc's prototype so it goes with the collection.  Same great sound though.

The slide sounds great through that amp. Too bad the drums (especially the snare drum) sound so shitty in the demo. And the crash cymbals are WAY too hot in the mix!!
