I've gotten pretty good at holding the string under tension with one hand, while using the other to tune up

but both of those options sound pretty useful

one of these wedge shaped ones would be ideal I think:

Rockabilly, do you need to remove & reapply the capo, for every string? i guess you would...

I bend a slight hook at the ball end of the string,  then I use a small piece of packing foam or styrofoam under the pin to keep the ball end from falling off.

I was initially scared to get a Bigsby equipped guitar because I heard how hard it was to change strings.  It's not hard at all.
