Update: new guitar day

Just wanted to update on last weekend's post here. A pair of Seth Lovers, new rings, knobs and switch tip. Going for a blonde on blonde kind of thing. Like the way it turned out. First Seth's I've had...these are GREAT! Exactly the sound I was going for.

Very nice. I think creme rings almost always pick up the binding of guitars and yield a classy look. Ebony fretboard also really sets off the amber flame. For a while, I wanted all my guitars to have this look --plus a zebra in the back, to tie together with the board. (I've posted pics of my old Custom with this look.) Then, I went on the 'burst kick I've been on for a while, but this guitar is beautiful, really comes together. We share ownership of 535's with ebony and dots --don't see too many of these out there. (Mine doesn't have the multi-layered 555-type headstock binding.)

Cool! Browsed the gallery but couldn't find your guitar, can you point the way? These are really nice...suprised they're not more popular. Guess folks go for the 555, which is VERY nice, but I like the simplicity of mine at least as much, especially with these woods. Thx!

I haven't really figured out the "gallery" thing --most of my pictures are pretty off the cuff, don't seem to rate.

Here's my 535: Wolfe's 35 special + ebony board

Here's my custom, with the ebony/natural/creme look

I used the same knobs on my gold 535. The silver really ties in with the chrome hardware. You did good.

Love the burst on your 535--looks great with the ebony board (and guard?). Yep, your blonde custom is going for exactly the same look. Very nice! Thx!

I removed the amber top hat knobs that were probably original and these are aftermarket. Always liked the look of the reflector top hats. Saw this style on a blonde epiphone casino and thought it might translate to my blonde on blonde theme. Right now I like it. Knobs are thankfully much easier to swap out than wiring harnesses on these. :o
