zguitar71
A gold one!!!!! Really cool plus it has a stinger on the headstock/neck and the firebird pickups. You just picked up a killer guitar!!
brentrocks
I don’t know what’s different about this guitar/pickup combo? Normally, I hate the tone of “firebird” pickups. These Seymour Duncan pickups have great sparkle. Not ICE PICKY. The neck pickup has a fat, warm tone. The guitar has a great setup. Playability is very very high. Tone is stellar. Great weight (8.5 lbs). The neck is a medium C, very typical for this era of Heritage. When I’m playing it, I find it very easy to navigate the fretboard. It just feels right. I’m very pleased with this 357!! There hasn’t been a 357 that I’ve owned that I would say “sucked”. I’ve had 3 from the original run and 1 from the last run. Although, much different in construction, still solid, consistent and great quality.

(except, and this is just me, I hate Nashville bridges. What was the other bridge that you replaced, the original bridge, what was it?) Thanks John!! This is one to get into, for sure!! I replaced the Schaller roller bridge and top loader tailpiece.

I've purchased a few things from them over the years. That's the first gold top I've seen on the MarvBird.

Probably the most diverse selection of guitar gear in a shop that I have ever seen in many years. So the question of the day is, is this the only gold H357 in existence? I would have definitely replaced that roller bridge too, except I would have used a Faber locking ABR looking bridge. That roller bridge must have looked really strange on a 357! CJ Stanley in Illinois has over 14 of them and looking for more. I talked to him a few times about buying one of his but he said he'd think about it but probably not. Great guy. Here is a couple pics of his band and a few Marvbirds. That is his son playing them. Edited August 25 by skydog52 2
davesultra
I think that might have been the same guy who bought my Brown 89’ H357. Wasn’t he a one time Heritage endorser? Edited August 25 by davesultra

pressure
I bought a Heritage H160 from CJ many years ago at an Illinois guitar show. We spent a lot of time talking about his Heritage H357s.

rockabilly69
Great looking guitar Brent. Glad to hear you're digging on Firebird pickups. I love them too! And I'm with Kuz on dumping any kind of Nashville bridge (for the same reasons), I think the Faber locking ABR and lightweight tail are perfect for the 'birds. I didn't have my guitar a week before I swapped mine out. And installed "Kauer Wind" Klein Firebird pickups!
