I've got an Alesis  SR18.   I like the drum sounds,   but I never had the patience to do any programming of it.   It does have some usable patterns.   I used it with my Yamaha AW1600 years ago to do a version of Inner City Blues with only factory patterns.

You can also feed it midi tracks from a computer and feed that to your 8 track.

I've since moved to MT Power Drumkit in my DAW, although you could send the audio output from your computer to your recorder.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi all! First off let me say I'm not a drum machine guy. In any way shape or form! Every recording I've ever done my entire life has been with a real drummer and I don't plan on changing that ever! That being said, I'm looking to get something to lay down a decent drum track that I can run right into my 8-track recorder and it will sound decent. I have absolutely no experience or knowledge of drum machines at all, I have heard that Beat Buddy is pretty good, and I have heard people talk about other models that actually adapt to the song that is playing to make a perfect beat. Again I know nothing about it so hoping some of you have some experience with home recording and can suggest one that's user friendly but actually does a great job too. Thanks everyone!

  3. Wow. Yeah the whole guitar community, with the whole "vintage correct" thing has gone off the deep end in my opinion. It's absolutely unreal what people are paying for some of this stuff. It's now become a "hey but I HAVE this" thing instead of just having what you need to play and sound your best. But hey, everyone's free to spend their cash on what they want to. Just makes no sense to me. But as long as people are lined up to buy this stuff, they'll keep making it and making it very expensive too.

This is sad to see.   I wish they would have developed a “value priced”  brand like other companies have done (Epiphone, Squier, LTD, etc.).   The guitars look like cheap Asian bolt on neck, poly monstrosities, and it sucks to see the Heritage name on the headstock.   Say what you want about Gibson, they never whored out their main brand.   At least they aren’t dumb enough to do it today.

Coming up with a unique brand name can be tricky.  Maybe they could just put a W in front and swap the E for a O.   Whore-atage would be more appropriate for this venture.   Hope the guys contact me for future brand suggestions.  I’ll work for free.

  5. Sad to see this. I guess there's the thought of "PRS has been doing this awhile now." And that's true. I just wish they would put something on the headstock that shows there's a difference. Gibson has Epiphone, etc, and (at least as of now) has never put out a full on Gibson guitar that says only Gibson on the headstock but is made overseas. But, when the investors number one priority is making profit for the 1,000 companies they own, I guess nothing surprises me. It's just sad because so many have the thought of "what's the problem? It's business. If you don't want one, don't buy one." That's true, but it's just one more kick in the face to anyone that takes pride in American made products and manufacturing. Heritage never had a model with only the Heritage name on that was made overseas. Until now.....

Yeah it's a tough choice because it's has so many weird attributes. I don't doubt it's real, just what has been done to it. Almost looks like the whole guitar has been stripped of the finish. Considering offering him less, but the case doesn't look right, no model distinction on the control plate, and the Gibson vintage tuners are just odd.

I really wish there was a picture of the face of the headstock. That kind of concerns me too. It definitely looks like a real heritage though. And I do know that Heritage used some Gibson tuners in the early days. I have definitely seen that before. But man I would really love to see the front of the headstock on this thing!
