tsp17
I just a/b’d these tubes in my Mesa Boogie 5:50+ Express. Both excellent and recommended. The Redbase 6L6GCM is beefier in build. Sounds a lot like a quality 5881, warmer, darker. Really nice. 6L6WGC sounds more hi-fi, brighter, almost acoustic until driven. Would probably match up well with HRW’s. Both are very musical and seem durable. The Redbase is especially sturdy. I usually use a Mesa 5881 so I’ll stick with the Redbase. Mesa 5881s are hard to come by at the moment; these will do just fine. I might order another set. The 6L6WGCs will be the backup.
