I'd say ASB. Almond has more red in it

Yep... Think Lance (bigbob) did some touchup, could have been clearcoat, and a rebuff on this one. There was a thread about it here at one point and I was thinking at the time, "Oh chit" 'cause it had been in my sights when MJ still owned it. I bought another of my guitars from him (H150 ASB) before he sold this one, so there was a level of trust there between us.

As I recall, it got stripped down and maybe refinished in Natural by bigbob or DetroitBlues. Let me lookÂ

Still having fun with Amplitube and the Tonex Max captures you can use standalone or with the built-in partial DAW in it.
The background of this was recorded/miced back in 2017. In early December, I pulled in the 2017 wav file to see what I could get noodling on top with an Amplitube rig.

I do like the way the site snaps now with no lag ever.

Would likely have to be someone your insurance agent would recognize as being a valid appraiser. That is the response I got when I asked my agent about guitar insurance

OK, anyone using Tonex or NAM (Neural Amp Modeler)?
-
Anyone here using Amplitube in their recording or, really, anywhere else? I used it in its early days and it has come a long ways since. There is a free version out there that really appears to be usable.
I figured I would give it a try and ordered the Amplitube 5 Max version on the cheap, hopefully to use in conjunction Cakewalk on my PC.
The whole setup of the DAW with Amplitube may be a bit much, way too many variables to play with, but I have been using the free Cakewalk from Bandlab off and on for a few years and wanted to layer in something other than another synth modules.
What do you know? What do you think?

My name is Mike. I live in the Boston area and noodle around on the guitar for fun. Don't play as much as I used to.
Â
In the late 90s, in an attempt to recreate "that Grestch sound" I ordered a H-550. This being the days before TV Jones came on the scene, I had Seymour Duncan's custom shop make up a set of Filtertrons in a standard humbucker size. Later, I had it retrofitted with a Bigsby B6. And voila!
Â
In the summer of 2007, I had a flood in my basement and, though I thought I had gotten everything up off the floor, the headstock end of the case had gotten thoroughly soaked. I hadn't played the guitar in about six months and when I went to open the case, I watched (to my horror) the headstock actually split down the center.
Â
I was absolutely sick to my stomach every time I looked at the case (I couldn't bear to open it and look at the headstock). I was convinced that I would have to get the neck replaced. About a year later, I called up Heritage and Ren said "Oh yeah, that's easy. We just dry it out completely and glue the headstock back together." Altogether it cost me about $200 and the guitar is good as new.
Â
I absolutely love this guitar. I play it through a modified Victoria amp (the chassis of a 35310 put into a Clark custom built 2x10 combo cab with Weber alnico speakers). It sounds great. The Duncans, although they cost an arm and a leg, are spot on and it's just a great rock and roll guitar.
What year is the guitar? You should be able to tell from the first letter of its serial number.

L.V. here - lvjmusic on this and many other forums
Â
Playing guitar since I was barely in my teens and have never been able to find a cure for G.A.S but marriage did slow down the onset as it can be particularly distressful to the bank account.
Â
Currently proud owner of several of the early solid body models. I have two of the STAT models - one was 'bmg' stamped at the factory and arrived in my music store from the Heritage rep back in 1990 with a H U G E (and ugly) Schaller boat anchor for a bridge. It was a good guitar in most other ways so I added PJ Marx pups. Roland hex pickup and controller and Kahler top-load bridge. This is now one sweet ride. The second one I got on eBay several years ago and is stock in all ways. A previous owner tried to add a pickguard to it (!) and left remnants of the screw holes on the top.
Â
I also have a bolt on VIP-1 (eBay) and an H140 goldtop (direct from Kalamazoo). The STATS are my main go to guitars but don't use the Roland rig much anymore and the VIP is a great single pick up axxe for just sitting and picking.
Â
Ages and details are in my sig below. Happy pickin'!

Welcome LV. I have a Stat Dlx, which was my first Heritage guitar, and I love it.

Hi Everybody. My name is Larry. I got my first Heritage yesterday.
I had posted my 2006 Dr. Z Mazerati 2X12 combo in Craigslist here in the San Francisco north bay area for a price of around $1200/or a Gibson es335. A guy emailed me and said he wanted to trade straight-up. He proceeded to tell me the basics about who Heritage is. He said he had a used H-535 in almond burst (s/n U06403). I could hardly believe it. Short version story:
He is a gigging musician; Has others guitars; Has owned the 535 from new; Has some very nice/hi-end amps; Really wants the Mazerati. We met yesterday. We made the trade and we both are delighted. I had never played any model of Heritage. In 1969 I got my first good guitar. It was a new 1968 Gibson ES-335 dot in that classic red from Angelo's House of Music on Geneva near Mission in San Francisco. It was a great guitar. In the past 10 years I have owned two Gibson custom shop ES-335s. I currently own around 40 guitars. Since I lost that '68 around 40 years ago, I have never had or played a 335 type that gave me the feelings of my '68 335; Until now. I have been playing since I was 11. I retain more than my share of fine guitars. The H-535 I have now is what I remember about my '68 335. It's more than a feeling; It's the acoustic sound. The unplugged volume. The vibrations at the body-to-body contact points. I could go on but I won't. However, I am wondering if someone who is at Parsons Street today might of had a hand in my old '68? I took several photos of my new Heritage 535 which I will post later today.
Â
Welcome Larry and glad you feel the magic.

Hi,
Â
I'm Gene and new to this forum. I mostly play acoustic. But I took my Heritage (1986) out of the case the other day and began wondering what model it was. From my web search I think it might be an H140 CM Faded Cherry but I don't really know. Picture is attached. Can anyone help me identify the model for sure?
Â
Pickily Yours,
Gene
Â
Official finish should be Antique Cherry burst and it is an H140CM... Take off the control cavity cover and a label will be on the inside for verification. Welcome aboard
-
The guy I bought the guitar from (a 64 old bluesguitar player) told me it was a special series guitar,
special aged at the custom shop, it's scratched and dented, too mutch for a 4 years old guitar. It's a flat finish with no glossy clearcoat on it. The ID card from the guitar says: Model: H150 Finish CM Serial W20904.
Â
The CM is Curly Maple top
Â
A special series would have a series index (typically 3 digits) in addition to the serial number stamped on the back of the head
Â
An ultra top would be a special order though
-
There is no way that aging would make that much of a change on an ACB color. The more I look at it . . the more it doesn't look like a Heritage shading. I wonder if the top was refinished?
Â
There is a wide variation in OSB and cameras/lighting can add/subtract hues from the end result. One way to see the variation is to go to the Gallery and enter OSB in the search field. Aside from OSB, a dark ASB Antique Sunburst is the next closest, in my opinion. I have a H150 with a finish similar to the original poster, but a shade lighter
-
This is Antique Cherry Burst... lots of red and yellow
Â
Â
Chestnut Burst is abbreviated CNSB i.e. Chestnut Sunburst In other words, the N is there

Â
totonka won this at PSP II
-
Â
From the picture, the guitar definitely looks to be OSB, regardless of the ACB on the label. Judging by the corrosion on pup covers and being a '06, the pickups may be Seth Lovers.... they will say on their back if they are
-
The backside of the cover says: H150 ACB Ulter Top or something...??
Â
H150 Antique Cherry burst with an upgraded top... sounds good

Hi everybody,
Â
I'm Erik from Belgium and just bought my first Heritage a few days ago.
I've played a lot of guitars but still searching for thr real one.
I will post some pictures of my 150, it's an 'aged' model from '06 but I
don't know type or wathever so I hope to find a lot of answers on this forum
Sorry for my bad english but I do my best.
Â
Greetz, Erik or Hardcover
Â
Often, the best way to find your model etc is to take the control cavity cover off and look at the label inside

howdy! i believe that this is the only guitar forum of which i'm a member--and i'm a member of several--where i've visited the new-dude(tte) board. i guess that "special invitation" has mojo!
Â
anyhoo, old guy, been playing poorly since '65; less poorly since i got a strat in '74; gave it all up in mid 80s and came back last year. playing not so poorly these days and loving it.
Â
i've spent my retirement savings on a wonderful herd of axes in the past year. gibsons, fenders, customs, a ric, and now i've ordered an H530 in antique natural. supposed to have in about 7 weeks.
Â
glad to be here! regards, eljay
Â
