157 problems with bridge/tailpiece

I'm now using a TOM bridge with everything else the same. I'm not sure why, but it intonates better than the locking bridge. Tailpiece is up about an inch on each side. It sounds great and plays really well also. What someone mentioned about the bridge caving in forward is true. I can't quite see it, but it's possible. Also, I'm wondering how similar the carve tops are on each Heritage guitar.
