jamison162
I've got several small (almost tiny) blemishes on my H-150 Goldtop. I keep hearing Nitro is easy to touch up....anyone done this with success?

slider313
stewmac sells nitro touch up supplies. Dan Erlwines book explains how to, looks easy but I have not tried it I've done it more than a few times when I worked for SMASH. The laquer "pens" are like a magic marker. The bigger the "doink" the more applications it will take. Let the first touch up dry for 15 min. and do it again if needed. Sometimes one application is all it takes. tulk1
StewMac deosn't have a gold lacquer stick though... Wouldn't it be the paint underneath that is gold? The lacquer should be clear.

cook
I have found that in theory nitro is easy to touch up, but it in reality it takes a lot of care and effort to make it look unnoticeable. Levelling and polishing the touchup usually will alter the surrounding buffed fininsh and if you're buffing by hand it will look different than the factory buffed surrounding finish. I also recommend getting some tips from Erlewine's book. I hope I didn't discourage you, because you can make the touch up look good. Good luck!
