sykofiddle
I've been slowly working on the 2002 H-535 I recently acquired. I put a Seth Lover pickup in the neck and that was a noticeable improvement over the Schaller. Now I'd like to do something about the dramatic loss in high frequency response when I turn down the volume on the neck pickup. If I go down to 8 it sounds like I turned the tone down to about 3. I remember hearing that getting better pots, or different capacitors, or something can make a big difference. Is there a straightforward answer to this? thanks, Michael
Thundersteel
Try the RS Electronics upgrade kit. A lot of people swear by it.

Heritage525
All you need to do is a "treble bleed mod", I have done it numerous times, recently on my 535 that I put Seth Lovers on! All it intails is adding a .001 cap. across the volum pot. Very easy to do, extremely effective. If you do a goole search for Treble Bleed Mod, you should find lots of info. It works great, super cheap (the caps can be found a Radio Shack), very effective.
