  1. I was making sly reference to the Doobies tune
  2. this website's unwieldy edit property wrecked my efforts to polish the preceding post . . . The short of it is that Heritage works with Sweetwater for the "Exclusive" releases. Heritage goodness with some one-off variety. My new one has Seth Lovers which was a key consideration in pulling the trigger. H's 225 humbuckers don't garner universal praise and I don't want to gamble with tone since tried-and-true pickup choices are out there. Quick aside, my Sweetwater Exclusive H-150 from earlier in the fall has Lollar Imperials and they're the cat's meow. Good job, H and SW!
  3. This bad boy joined the herd over the weekend . . . I'm not normally one for factory aging but the one in this thread
  4. referencing this thread: https://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/38369-used-530-incoming-inspired-by-trich/ finally got the wolftone dr. vintage humbuckers disguised as P-90s installed in the subject guitar . . . i chose the cream color pickup surrounds and glad that i did . . . tone is a little less "focused" than a 535 but certainly soft and round . . . scratched the itch! thanks for looking!
  5. and you and I are well set on the H-535 front! I bought a pair of the Legends' cousin, the Dr. Vintage, thinking I'd install them in a Gibson LP Studio. However, the LP sounds too goo to mess with so methinks the 59s in the new 535 will get 86'd and replaced with the Dr. Vs. I guess I've become a Wolfetone fanboi . . .
  6. Quest is ovah, found the sound! Wolfetone Legends in 535 I bought used from Dave's. Neck pickup with tone rolled all the way down. A-B'd with the 535 (Duncan 59s) I purchased at PSP. Noticeable difference . . .
  7. H website doesn't show AN finish available. A few dealers still list 535s in AN. Anyone know when the discontinuance happened? Thank you for info!
  8. Good question, Rich . . . my guess is that the Richcaster will sit at the outside with the 535 in the middle. I'll be able to tell my axes from a hole in the ground! 🤣
  9. I thought I was done chasing the full-hollow-with-humbuckers will o' the wisp. Then, the esteemed Talisman Rich posted in another thread that Wolftone makes HBs in P-90 size . . . Little wheels in little head turned . . . Found a 2023 530 in ebony at Dave's Guitar for $1750 and bought Wolftone Legends for it . . . Ebony is good color so I can tell my axes apart: 535 in OSB, 530 in red, and now RichCaster in ebony . . . Looking for good bankruptcy lawyer . . .
  10. I was getting into acoustic in a big way and playing very little electric when I sold you the prospect. I don't think I explored the nuances of the prospect thoroughly while I had it.
  11. Thanks for the kind words, Rich. The 530 has risen rapidly in the hierarchy of go-to guitars. I was apprehensive about the P-90s because they're single coil (I think) and I detest single-coil buzz. There's no buzz and I love some of the righteous tones I can dial in. The light weight of the 530 is a nice bonus! My first H was a 530 built to order for me in 2009 or 2010 and I knew not squat about pickup voicings back then.
  12. ergonomically it doesn't work so back to Ft. Wayne it must go . . . silly me thought it might fit me like my new 530 but, alas, not so. And I was planning on getting the music for Girl from Ipanema. Oh, the humanity!

    NGD H-530

Will do, Rich! Loving it already!
  15. Yes . . . I changed my thinking and got a 530 for more variety. It came today and I'm glad to have it!
  16. just off the Fedex truck!
  17. "I'm underwhelmed" he said in true curmudgeonly fashion . . .
  18. and I popped for a brand new 530 in red!
  19. Thanks, everyone! My guitar repair guy told me that a P90 guitar should stay a P90 guitar, way too much hassle to change to HBs.
  20. Thanks, Josh. Learning what I have, I think I'll take a different tack to get a H with Seths . . . right now, standard H535s and 530s are heavily discounted at Daves and Sweetwater (and probably other shops). So, it would make better financial sense for me just to get one of these and a new set of Seths. What intrigues me is the idea of Seths in a 530. Unpotted pickups in full hollow might be a feedback machine but tonally it seems like it would be delightful at lower volumes. Can anyone tell me if the wiring components are the same for 530s and 535s? That is, if I got a 530, would changing from P90s to Seths be a quick one and done (well, two actually) or are the capacitors or other wiring stuff different? Many thanks!
  21. Hi, everyone! I have my eye on this: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/H535AADLB--heritage-artisan-aged-h-535-electric-guitar-dirty-lemon-burst-sweetwater-exclusive The SW price and the headstock make me think the guitar is a standard, not a CC. It has Seth Lovers, which is what stirs my interest apart from the kool finish. Information is welcome! eljay
  22. . . . and so I bought one! arrived last evening . . . gonna mess with it today . . .
  23. Play yer delightful Millie🎸 to pass the time!
  24. Thanks, Josh, I appreciate your input
  25. I heard it at the VFW and was quite impressed! I've scrounged up my MXR equalizer and will mess with it and the 535.
