About Me

Hi Heritage owners.

I want to restore my guitar: "Heritage Parsonstreet" year 91 serial number 1.

I am from the Netherlands, born in Amsterdam, used to play daily and thought me and my band were gone change the world with lyrics and music. Ahem... we were young.
Took the guitar from its case to see what it looked like after so many years and wondered wether I could restore some of its beauty.

The story is,

I was 21 years old when I bought it in Amsterdam at "Dirk Witte". It is labeled "Parsonstreet" Serial H26101 and the year was 1992. Played it every day and the frets and body are silent witnesses. I took care of it but I remember it getting wet, falling over ,  heating up in the sun and what else in those years. Played at anything from some weird gigs in forgotten places to schools.
The band changed, I changed, friends changed... we broke up. Guitar got forgotten.

Back then I got the guitar at a discount they told me( 1900,- dutch guilders.) The dollar was about 1.65 so that guitar cost me about $1150.- . More than I earned in one month I can tell you. Dollars were expensive in those days. I went back to the store for several weeks to see if it was still there until I had enough money to buy it, without the case. I never regretted it because I kind of fell in love with it and the discount was because the higher frets were a bit off. It's not even. I didn't mind since I never soloed the 19th fret area. I was not that good/flexible player. What bothered me was the switches and volume drop of the humbucker. I rewired it myself, broke one switch which didn't do anything I remember and used the other switch to single/double coil.
Replaced the humbucker at some time with a secondhand "i cant remember the brand" and that stopped one day and I got something in now which is not original I think. (I ve had my fair use of intake and fun with the band...it wears the brain apearantly). I might have the original somewhere with other old guitar parts but I dont know which is which.

I stopped playing when work and family became the most time and energy consuming thing in my life. By then I was 32 and the guitar collected some dust already.

In 2010 I was involved in a highway car accident. Traffic jam in rush hour. Some young car driver panicked, forgot to brake and steered blindly in the rear of mine 4 wheels. Since ten years I try playing again but the damage to my nerves in the neck is severe. Jobless, although wife and kids are fine and no financial problems...

I just want to play that guitar again in those minutes I am able to. Fingers are tiff and it is quite fatiguing.

Does anyone know how to wire this beauty correctly and what doublecoil it was supposed to have?
Thanks
