I noticed one guy had ear plugs hanging around his neck I worked for a huge international company and hearing protection (and many other things) was mandatory. If you got caught break certain safety rules you were fired. There's no way to make these fine instruments w/o violating the rules that company imposed. I also wonder how often a guitar gets dropped when using those buffing wheels.

I've seen in a couple of places that Heritage has reduced the price on Standard line models. Might be time to jump on something!

I'm in the camp of removing them. I prefer the naked look on most guitars, especially if the top boasts gorgeous wood.

Congrats on the new CC H-535. I too am a recent purchaser of a Heritage custom core. I bought my CC H-530 from Sweetwater just a month after it left the factory in Kalamazoo. I owned two H-535's back in the mid 90's and they were great guitars. However, this 530 hits me in all the right places. A fully hollow thin line with great P90's is just what I want today as an old man who doesn't turn his amps up too loud anymore. Enjoy your Heritage. The Kalamazoo made Harmony guitars are probably the lowest cost solid body guitars made in the US. I briefly owned a Comet (semi hollow) and it was a great guitar. I only sold it because I needed to fund my purchase of a CC H-530. I'm curious to know how well done these Ascent models are going to be but I don't think I'll buy one. That's not to say I look down my nose at them or anyone who buys one. Not all of us can afford US made instruments.

That's a stunner! I agree on the pickguard removal, a nice burst should never be hidden behind a pickguard unless it's one of the wood guards that Heritage used to spec. Enjoy.
