Picked this up yesterday This is a custom ordered, one off 2011 H137!!! I bought it from the original owner that custom ordered it from Marv and Jim and Vince. It’s a one piece Honduran Mahogany body and neck. The neck is a big 50s carve! Rosewood fretboard with pearl dots. Belly cut. Wrap tail bridge. Single humbucker. Grover tuners. And an old school Heritage case. This H137 was built by the original Heritage Crew. Marv, Bill, Jim, Ren and Vince. It’s in near mint condition. He didn’t play it very much. No fret wear. The neck sealed the deal for me. It is so rare to see a heritage from this era with a big 50s neck!!!! It feels great!! It weighs in at a skinny 7 lbs 6 ozs!! Plays and sounds great!! It has a killer rock tone!!!

Thanks Tim!! I opted to leave the back and rim alone. I was trying to keep the cost of the project down.

Wheeewwww!!! Holy crap!! Wiring a holow body guitar SUCKS!!! Lol. I tell ya what though, it was well worth it! What was a half-ass refinish, is now a classy, respectable tone machine. The guitar still has great tone and superb playability, but now it looks beautiful!!! Dave did a wonderful job on refinishing the top…factory quality. Granted, the rest of the body is still the matte black finish, but it actually goes well with the Silverburst. Aside from re installing the electronics, everything went back together super easy. I had to re condition the fretboard (because of taping off the fretboard). Then installed a new set of GHS 9s and she was ready to rock!!!

WOW!!!!! -
What’s the going rate for a set of HRWs these days? What’s your thoughts?
-
When I think of the H525, that’s my first thought. Lonesome George
-
That thought did cross my mind But my budget is very tight. I’m going to ask Dave to try to buff the matte to black on the back and rim if possible. And then just do a gloss SILVERBURST on the top.
-
Wow, that is pretty cool! The only thing I don’t like about that bridge configuration is that it is kind of a pain in the butt with String changes.
-
I thought about having the whole body stripped and go back to an original tobacco burst finish, but that would probably cost me $1000, and I don’t wanna put that kind of money into the Guitar right now. Plus, I would love to have another Heritage that matches the Silverburst finish on my custom core 157.
