Differences in an H 530 versus an H 525

After listening to Brentrocks’ H 530 clip from the basement, (including the spiders from mars), I was wondering about how a 530 compares to a 525, aside from the single-cut versus double-cut shape difference.

Is the 525 better suited to jazz? Or is the only real difference compared to the 530 in the body shape?

Brentrocks surely got some good rock tones out of his 530; with the apparent similarity of the 530 to an Epi Casino, I would think it would be suited to pop rock and classic (Beatles) rock, and even heavier rock.

There are similarities. The H530 has a neck like the H535 or 335. There's 22 frets with easy high access.

The Casino neck joins the body at a lower fret level than the H530, making it harder to reach the highest frets.

The H525 also will not do as well on those highest notes.

I've owned both, but not simultaneously. It's possible there's some tone differences between the H525 and the H530 with amplification. There definitely is acoustically.

I own a 525 and an ES330. The 330 is certainly capable of acceptable jazz tones (think early Grant Green) but the 525 is where it's at imho.

I was bringing my 330 to rehearsals for a bit and my bass player finally asked me to bring the 525 back. When I told him I thought they sounded comparable he just stared at me like I was an idiot. That's what happens when you listen with your 'new guitar goggles' on lol.

I love the 330 for funk and blues though!
