big bob
Brent sent me the old dimarzio pro paf's from goldie lox, and I swaped out the bridge pup in my stat ( duncan 59 ) for the dimarzio bridge pup.. swap was super easy, duncan was a one conductor lead , dimarzio was a two conductor, took 1/2 hour tops, and I changed the strings for good measure. went from 10's to 9's and the verdict is.......... pretty damn close to what it was .. the dimarzio overdrives just a little quicker, and has just a tad more out put... the biggest difference is the way it interacts with the middle singlecoil, have it wired out of phase and QUACK< QUACK, real fender more so than the duncan... I am going to leave it for a while and then switch it so it's in phase or at least reverse phase and see how that sounds.. thanks brent Bob new pups on stat 003.jpg new pups on stat 003.jpg_thumb
big bob
p.s. realized when I had the strings off and the pup out that the trem was loose. tightened up the studs and POW my sustain problem has vanished ...
