Guest HRB853370
peterbright, please tell us what tube complement and Weber speaker you chose. Tubes are probably next up for a change in mine. Are they acting up on you? Tubes are not like a furnace or water filter where you "have" to change them at specific intervals. I would wait until yours start giving you problems. But if you do change them earlier, I will take dibbs on your stock tubes (assuming they are not acting up). I like the sound of my DRRI bone stock! schundog
Not acting up, Will, but you DO know that different brand/vintage tubes can provide very different tone..... Don't you?! If I retube, I'll keep the originals as spares, but thanks for the offer.
Blunote
Sometimes an amp loses volume and punch when tubes start going bad. It's better to change them early than wait for a failure that could harm other components. At least, that's what I've read.
