Gianluca
Hi All, today arrived from a Shop in UK. After a very long time DSP is back in my pedals chain. I've been in the quest for long trail analog reverb for some time but I couldn't find one with real long trails and in a box. My preferred tone, trail, decay combination was from Plate Reverbs and Talisman does it, at least for me. Clearly DSP is the only way to fit a plate reverb in a stomp box, it took me some time to accept that and decide to buy it. I checked other interesting analog reverbs like: Analog real springs White Whale Headroom Element DSP: Aurora M300 Oceanic (cheap and well done) and many others, I spent some time understanding which to choose. The Talisman was the best choice for two main resons: - interesting tone and trail management - no presets switch it does only one kind of reverb and it's what I was looking for. The packages is lovely I'd say, included there are a 100% cotton pouch containing the pedal, a pick and a sticker. It's of solid construction, knobs are tight and LED is clear, only the knobs descriptions tend to not be seen easily. It's a pleasure sharing these bits of life in this online community. Never give up playing. ?
smokedtires
Congrats on your new pedal! I have a Formula No5 pedal from CB that I enjoy. They make some fun and interesting pedals.
Gianluca
Thanks and enhoy on your Fno5 the idea of pairing my VDL L'Overdrive(that I much appreciate) with their RAH is tempting ? I must admit
TalismanRich
I haven't looked much at reverb pedals, since all of my amps except for the old Valco have spring reverbs, but I really like a plate reverb. The Talisman has a nice sound to it. Plus, I like the name!
Gianluca
Talisman...Rich ...hahaha right! I think The Reverb is the analog spring one possibly on board and all tube what I find in the Talisman is what a spring reverb isn't, but after using it for some time now I can appreciate that extra step it takes on the plate reverb, the controls are interdependent to each other and interesting combinations can be made giving a wide spectrum for those kind of nice deep reverbs with a long-as-wanted-trail (not to mean infite and unreal) and with the single coils of the Telecaster makes it for a tone I've always been fascinated by I'm a lucky man, I own a Talisman (subtle eh? ? ) for example, do you guys know The Spellcasters ? Three Telecasters, bass and drum, I really like them, I bought their online record and it's a very good one IMO a piece from their album: The Spellcasters - High Mountain - Music from the Anacostia Delta let me know what you think? and....never give up playing mates!
