  1. It's funny about pickups and really all things related to electric guitars. The menu has a thousand selections and each person has his/her favorites. It reminds me of when Ted McCarty had a young Pete Moreno drive a truck out to the dump to get rid of a very large number of original and unused PAF pickups because 225 Parsons needed the room. About 20 years later Pete bought boxes of Gibbons items that were being left behind in the move to Nashville. Each box was $10. One of the boxes had among its contents five new Charlie Christian pickups still in the plastic. Two sayings come to mind. One man's gold is another man's garbage, and every dog has his day.

  3. GC in Kalamazoo has a really nice selection of Heritage guitars right now, including a Core 150. But there was a 2020 Dirty lemon burst Standard that was calling to me! GC had a great offer on Heritage stuff right now so I took it home! I had to do a complete setup on it. The action was sky high and there was way too much relief in the neck. But it setup PERFECTLY! Low action and the neck straightened out very well. Being PLEKED makes a huge difference!!!! HUGE!!!! Heritage had definitely stepped up to the plate with their quality. This 150 is stellar!!! As good as any Gibbons CS I have ever played!! I do think they need to get away from SD 59s though, I’m not really impressed with them.

  7. FWIW, the magnets in HRW's have to be Alnico 5. Schaller glued them in place and used a custom sized magnet. It would likely be prohibitively expensive to get just a few sets of custom magnets cut. I'm not sure what Ren did to these pickups. He won't talk about it. I tried to get him to talk a few times. It's a secret he will take to the grave with him.

  9. Umm... I see an emoji that appears to be a miniature of two glasses of beer, or a cheese sandwich. You can either post the pics to a different site and post using the URL, or you can open the pics from a online photo site, save them as JPG files, and upload them. BTW, welcome to the forum. I'm not trying to be harsh, but the emoji is rather comical.
