IT’s plausible they might, but I suspect the production of the custom cores are probably taking up all the capacity of the custom shop.  Might explain why the bespoke program isn’t really available.

Hello from West Tennessee. I purchased my first Heritage today, a blonde Super Eagle. I've been playing regularly for 47 years, but never owned a really nice jazz guitar. I almost took a Sweet 16 but decided on the Super Eagle because I love Kenny Burrell. I may still keep my eye out for a Sweet 16 for later.

I have not recieved the guitar yet and suspect it will be a couple of weeks. I'm certain I've never been this excited about a guitar.

I look forward to participating in the Heritage community!

    Joe

Welcome to the HOC, Joe.  And congratulations on your incoming Super Eagle.  You'll definitely get your KB "Midnight Blue" groove on with that sweet axe.

Hi: Long-time owner here, but never found this site until today. I have a '93 Prospect. Not sure if that's a well-loved model in these parts, but it has a lot of gigs under its belt. Natural finish, Schaller pickups and some crazy coil-split and who-knows-what wiring, which I've never changed, cause I really just use it for straight ahead jazz gigs. Schallers are really hot, too; they'll overdrive a preamp that no other guitars of mine will punch that far.

@JayBecker:  Welcome to the HOC!  Prospects are unique and wonderful guitars.  It's another model that Heritage should bring back into production.  Yours looks to be in good hands.  Play it in good health.

Ok, thank you for the invite.  I am a new member, Jeff, and have a brand new, to me , Heritage H575, Mimi Fox edition, and it is beautiful! Plays like a dream.  I am 60 - something, have been playing music all my life, but not as a pro.  Jazz sax, have played in big bands over the years, jazz piano ( finger issue s on right hand caused me to give it up). Never went to music school, but always wanted to.  My heritage is one day old, to me, and I love it! Other guitars are a 1979 Guild D-35 ( still great), Martin OM-28, G&L tele ( cool), and a Comins GCS1 ( marvelous).  I play through a Genzler amp.   I am now taking jazz guitar lessons from a wonderful teacher - after years of raising kids and not playing.  If anyone is interested in the real deal as a teacher just let me know - he teaches over the internet in this crazy day and age.  I spend hours some nights playing, practicing, going down rabbit holes to explore chord melodies and improvization - it is a relief and release from the stresses of work and life.  I hope that the pics come out well....

Hi and welcome to the HOC!

You may be one of the first Mimi Fox owners who posted here.  (Any others feel free to chime in)

And what an entrance!  That is one beautiful instrument.  I've always wanted to check one of those models out.

Based on Mimi's videos, she seems to be an excellent teacher as well as master jazz guitarist.  Great that you've found an online instructor that you like.

    Play it in good health.

I think Jim did. He and I were talking about them during PSP one year.

    Aha!  Thanks, PK.

Yes Jim came up with the bass design about the same time as the Marvbird.

    Well that settles it.

Jim is still making sawdust at Heritage.  They should bring back a Heritage Bass to their lineup.

Hi all, my name is Bobby and I am actually a drummer but I'm also a lover of guitars. I have two sons that are musicians, one plays bass and theater is a guitar player. My reason for joining the club is because of my father. My dad passed in 2011 and left me all of his music gear. He was a guitar player and a quite accomplished one at that. He was also very instrumental in the Memphis music scene throughout the 60's & 70's. He was in the crowd from Memphis that consisted of Sam Phillips, Jim Dickinson, Don Nix, Larry Nix, Terry Manning, Chips Moman, John Fry, Willie Mitchell and so many others.I had a quite unique childhood to say the least. One of my dad's closet friends though was Johnny Smith. Some of you are probably familiar with Johnny, he played guitar for Bing Crosby but was most noted for his jazz guitar albums. My dad has a Gibson "Johnny Smith Model" from 1968. He also owns one of Johnny's personal Heritage "Johnny Smith" models and a custom made Emrad Johnny Smith amp, that was built personally for Johnny . I was trying to research serial# info on it and I came across this site. The serial # on the Heritage is 199304001. Does this mean it was made in April of 93 and it's the first model?  I have pics of everything I listed but they're too large to attach here so I lowered the quality on one of the pics and it should be below.  Even though I'm a drummer, I'm a huge fan of guitars and I view them as works of art. I can play a little guitar but I am by no means a guitarist. (LOL) Thanks for letting me blab...

Welcome to the HOC, Bobby.  Thanks for sharing your Dad's very interesting history as well as his association with the master, Johnny Smith.  As Skydog52 mentioned above, check for more details on the JS inside label as well as the rear of the headstock.

Here's an old ad mentioning the Emrad Johnny Smith Amp.  Those 100 beasts came with a JBL speaker.  Must have been one loud tone monster.

Hi, just bought myself a beautiful 1988 Heritage H575. Feels like it has arrived with muse permeating it’s body. So looking forward to using it on stage. Brian

  8. Wow a bunch of HOC newbies and lurkers have joined the party. We all started where you are. And soon, the tri-level Heritage addiction hits.

First you find yourself trolling for used Heritage guitars here on the HOC, Craig's List, Reverb and Ebay.

The second level is a daily scouring of Gbase and other online Heritage dealers for available new Heritage guitars.

The final (and most incurable) level is calling the factory and dealers to discuss your custom order. This is incurable because it is recurring, year after year. The Heritage addiction is in full force by then.

Just ask a few of us old timers. :icon_silent:

Oh, and welcome to the asylum.

  9. Hi I'm Keith. I just joined because I'm in the process of buying a Lefty H150! I've been playing over twenty years and I've needed a real guitar for a long time.

I wanted a Kalamazoo sibling for my 1917 Gibson L-1 and I'm sure The Heritage will deliver.

My current electric is a parts Paul, assembled from a Lefty SX with Jimmy Page wiring and Seymour Duncan Whole Lotta Humbuckers, gold Grovers, Switchcraft jack and toggle, vintage Sprague Black Beauties...

Some of this stuff will end up in the H-150 for sure.

I also built my own HiWatt clone for my main amp. I've documented some of this elsewhere, so I'll link to it sometime soon.

When I get the Heritage in a few weeks, I'll be back to share it with you guys :D

Welcome to the asylum! Anxious to see your new lefty 150 as well as that Hiwatt clone rig.

  10. Hi there! Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself, I live in England near London and am the proud owner of my 150 in almond burst. I bought it in 2004 from Ed Roman (yes, I know!) and to be honest, despite all the flak he got, I had a great experience, they shipped it over (yes I bought it without playing it - I could not find a single bad review on the net at the time so I took a punt - I was not disappointed!) and it's been one of the best guitars I've ever played.

It's heavy though, 10lbs and 9oz! But that's fine with me, I love it.

Ed Roman gave me a choice of any Seymour Duncans so I opted for a JB and a '59 but since then I've swapped them out for DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAFs in cream to go with the binding (looks very Ace Frehley now!)

Here's something I knocked up last weekend, me making up a solo to Paradise City, I think the guitar with DiMarzios sounds great.

Anyhow, just checking in to say hello, hope you're all doing well.

    Cheers

Hey PsychoAngus, you burned up that 150 on that GnR tune!! Great stuff.

    Welcome to the HOC.
