big bob Posted July 22, 2008 Share Posted July 22, 2008 was thinking I would like to get a hum/single/hum do any of you know if heritage ever made a version/one off I was thinking if I could get a inexpensive 162/vip I could convert. any thoughts. jacques Posted July 23, 2008 Share Posted July 23, 2008 Well Bob, the first (neck) single coil on the 162 is so nice, it would be a shame to try and hum that. The VIP2 has two hums, so your best bet would be a VIP1 which has just one (bridge) hum. The VIP2 has great switching and coil tap possibilities though (with the Var-I-Phase system), so you could easily be happy with one of those as is.
