GASguy
For those how play out with acoustic rigs, any recommendations for the LR Baggs Venue DI versus the older Paracoustic DI? Most of the acoustics I play out with I go right into the amp, but I have a few instruments with passive pickups or some that need to be tweaked a little to get optimal sound. Anyone have any experience or input? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron
H
I seem to remember Tulk posting about this a while back.
tulk1
Yep. We have two of the ParaDI's on the floor at every gig. Can't say they are better or worse than any other active DI. But they sure get the job done. And if you need eq'ing or tone shaping it's hard to beat them.
JohnCovach
I use the Radial PZ Deluxe. Very flexible and the mute switch is very useful.
rockabilly69
For reasonsable money I like the Fishman Platinum Pro, I always keep a few around for when someone needs a pre/di, I like it more than the Baggs because the knobs are easier for me to adjust on the fly, and it adds light compression. http://www.fishman.com/product/pro-eq-platinum-preampeqdi For my rig, if my little ZED mixer isn't enough, I use a Dtar Solstice for blending the two pickups in my dual source acoustics, and if I have a real problem source, I add a Dtar Equinox on that channel. http://shoppingcart.djangobooks.com/Item/d-tar-solstice http://shoppingcart.djangobooks.com/Item/d-tar-equinox
