MartyGrass
Lubed and screwed the Eagle Classic in position # 5 and is she easier to play with a strap. Reflect on this fact for a moment. There are only a handful of people in all of history who would properly interpret what you just wrote.
MartyGrass
Well, while you were lubing and screwing in the number 5 position with your new bird, I was lubing and screwing Johnny Smith in the number 2 position. And then I took my strap to Johnny's end pin and heel cap.
Kuz
Position #1 for me. I don't like the hole in the binding, a luthier told me it can prematurely cause the binding to crack. And I don't like the screw on the neck... I don't think it would ever effect the access to higher frets, but with the big 3'' straps I like it could get my big hands crowded. MartyGrass
I don't disagree that where ever you put the strap button you can cause trouble. The heel cap can be replaced pretty easily if it splits. I've never seen any splits yet. If the wood splits from a tug on the strap, that could be a tougher fix. I haven't seen that either. peterbright
My H555 CL has it in position 2 and it is not quite as comfortable as #5 but isn't bad either.
