Wish I had learned how to ride.  My dad wants me to buy his Heritage Softtail that only has 800 miles on it only being 10 years old.  He did one road trip, commuted to work (10 mile round trip) until he retired 3 years ago, then parked it.  He said he can't lift it if he laid it down so it sits in his garage collecting dust..

I bought a bike 46 years ago.

I've got a 1980 Sukuki 550 that's been sitting in the garage for 20+ years.   It was great for weekend rides and commuting 20 miles to work.  It was running fine until we had a local issue with contaminated gasoline, which gummed up the 4 carbs.   At the time,  I didn't have time to try to fix it myself, and didn't have the money to have a shop pull the carbs and tank and clean everything, so it sat.

I actually have the money that I could get it running, but it would need new tires,  shocks,  and it's got a small oil leak on the left cylinder head.  Yeah, it could be restored, but I would be afraid to ride today, with the way people drive.   One hand on the wheel,  the eyes and other hand on their cell phone.   If they can't see that car in front of them,  they surely wouldn't see a puny motorcycle!

My son says I should put in on Facebook Marketplace.   Someone with the mechanical aptitude could get it running, and I could probably get $300 or so for it, and more space in the garage.  Right now it costs me $8 in taxes per year, so it's not a problem, more of an inconvenience.
