  1. Howdy. The name is Shon (Shawn ... my parents drank). I'm in Kentucky and I will be picking up my first Heritage this week. Pics to follow

Well to the Club , Shon....

We're glad that you've found us and we will be especially glad when we get to see your new Heritage..... join in and have fun.

  2. Thanks Brentrocks and Fredzepp for the warm reception. The 20th Anniversity H150 is so awesome. I have number 13 of the series. I would love to buy another an put some P90's in it( just so they didn't sound the same). And the 535 is no slouch either. You can get a lot of different tones flipping the switches. don't use the out of phase so much yet. I was a little skeptical that they would live up to the praise they had gotten but they are sweet and chimey.

I am passing through Kalamazoo this summer. Can you take a plant tour? Buy from the factory?

You can not buy from the factory... but you can take an awesome factory tour...

We do it as a group during the Parsons St Pilgramage ... check the gallery for pics of PSP 1 and PSP II.

And we'd love for you to join us at PSP III,,,,

  3. Welcome John (jmac) , We are glad that you joined us here.

Everyone has great things to say about the 20th Anni guitars... the verdict is in on those and they are awesome.

The new 535 sounds like a winner also... great pickups and the enhanced electronics should make it exceptional.

Join in and enjoy the forum.

  4. Welcome to the HOC, flo

That is a great story that illustrates why we are united in our appreciation of Heritage guitars and the people that make them like they used to in Kalamazoo.

We look forward to your pictures and invite you to check out the galleries and join in the fun on the forum threads....

  5. Hi Everyone,

I've had my 150 for a few years now but only just found the forum, so this is my first post.

I'm from the UK, been playing guitar for nearly 40 years (OMG!!) and still trying to learn something new every day. Heritage guitars are rare and expensive here so I was very lucky to get mine for a good price. I have quite a few other guitars (I'm particularly fond of the UK made Patrick Eggle guitars from the 1990's) but my 150 is right up there with the best. An absolute tone monster!

    Welcome to the Club...

That is a really sweet looking 150 there... great look to it with that finish...

Check out the site and... join in.

  6. Welcome to the HOC , Paul (6strang)

That 535 is a beauty , for sure. Thanks for the pic.

It should sound sweet with those pickups and the wiring upgrade.

I just decided that one of my guitars ( a non-Heritage unfortunately ) has 57 Classics in it probably , not the 490's that was told to me when I bought it.

It sounds good and the pickups have a PAF sticker which is what makes me think that they aren't 490s.

In any case... enjoy the site ... surf around and join in... check out the gallery for pics of some sweet Heritage guitars....

  7. Greetings from Calgary, Canada. It's just finished (?) snowing here and being kinda housebound allowed me time to buy a Heritage H575 Tobacco finish from Wolfe Guitars in Jupiter, Florida about 8 hours ago. Talked to Graham, the English guy, and he seems quite decent.

First of all, I've never played a Heritage, but did lots of research and it seems to be a go-to company. In some respects this is a huge leap of faith, as Calgary is as far away from Jupiter as Earth is, say, from Mars.

I'm a swing/jazz guy and have been playing all my life. I'm retired somewhat, as I'm teaching and gigging quite a lot.

I have an old Tele ('62) with a Strat neck pup, and both are heavily shielded and this guitar gives a decent tone. I've got a couple of old Martins, D21 ('57), 0018 ('36), 2 newer Strats, an old Guild Starfire V and I love neck and sound of it. What I don't like it's really heavy and hard on the back/shoulder after a few hours of playing.

As I'm new to this forum, there's lots I can learn, and hopefully contribute worthwhile information over time.

Great idea this Heritage Owners forum.

I know Mimi Fox plays a Heritage, along with many other players so I'm pretty stoked about getting this guitar. I've owned a couple of Gibson archtops, but got sold or traded them for one reason or another.

Thanks for the opportunity for this introduction.

We're glad that you could join us, DeGe... Welcome to the club.

You will have a great experience when your new Heritage arrives from Wolfe Guitars, I am sure.

The 575 is a sweet guitar and seems made for you.

BTW , interesting Martins that you have there also...

  8. Welcome to the HOC, fromanoc

Great looking blue on that 150. Nice color , nice top , even a nice Avatar cab.

    Excellent looking Heritage there.

As for posting links to music... if it is Heritage , you can post it in the Heritage section

if not Heritage... post in the Family Tree... ( unless you want to show off an amp in the amp section)

.... glad you found us here... :D

  9. Hello All,

I am the new owner of a H150 CM Classic VSB. I was a Les Paul player and always had this nag in the back of my head about the newer build techniques. I decided to sell the Les Paul and get a Heritage. It is eveything I expected and then some. A real work of art an amazing tone. It is a 2000 with Duncan 59's.

I am enjoying reading and learning from the board.

    Welcome to the HOC, Mark.

I have a '00 150 classic VSB also, and it is excellent. Yours is a beauty and I can imagine the tone is top notch. Nice flame there also. We're glad you're here.....

  10. Thanks for the welcome, FredZepp....I checked out your '94 white/black tuxedo...very awesome looking guitar, definately makes me want to play. Where is a good place on this site to look up info on things like: original equipment (pick-ups, knobe, etc), care, repair, upgrades, etc. for my H-160? Thanks again!

Hopefully you've taken some time and looked around ( once you get started, you'll find many topics covered here).

The catalog info that you have as your avatar would have a lot of info and you can search the forums and galleries for info on H-160's .

But if you can't find something or have a question on your mind about your Heritage.... post in the Heritage section... we love to hear about any Heritage guitar here....

Sorry that I didn't see your question right away...

  11. Just toured the factory today (happy 25th) with my son.....good times. We're both drummers, but happened along an H-160 about 7 years ago. Brought it along on the tour to gather some info. It was made on Oct. 5th, 1986 and was the 4th guitar of the day to be completed. I like to learn a little guitar while taking a break from the drums and really enjoy the feel of this one. When friends come over, they always want to plug it in. Just joined this site today, so I'm an official "newbie". See ya at Duda's Deli tonight? Rendal Wall is plucking Bass at 6pm (hope you don't mind the plug, Rendal).

    be good,

    talkingfrets

Welcome to the HOC, talkingfrets.... It's good to have you here.

  12. Hi I'm new to the club having just purchased my 1st Heritage (a gorgeous 535 model). I've played Gibsons, owned an Epiphone Wildkat and like this one better than any. I'd like to trace it's model year so I can determine the components and config. Any idea where to find that info?

Welcome to the HOC, BlueMitch..... Here is our info section...just look up your serial number... HERITAGE Owners INFO

Oh yeah... and we love to see pics... ;)

  13. Greetings! I just joined this evening! My name is Johnny. I currently own 30 guitars. Among those I have an H-555, which has the signature of all the workers at Heritage on a label inside the guitar when the guitar was made. I was told it was personally set up and pleked by Ren Wall. I received an e-mail from Ren which seemed to confirm that. I also have a Blues Deluxe, which I bought from a gentleman in Florida, and I have a lefty H-550, which I have had swtiched to righty stringing, since I play lefty inversion style, ala Dick Dale. They are very fine instruments. I bought them all on eBay and they are in great shape!

In addition, I have Fenders, Gibsons, Guilds, Martins, Gretsches, DiPintos, ESPs, Italias, Castor Diablos, Wishnevskys, Carvins, Minariks and Reverends. I..uh..like guitars.

    Welcome to the HOC, johnnybhall

And yes, it appears that you like guitars... that's a wide variety that you've got there. It sounds like your H-555 is a nice custom job. Tell us more and.... well, we do all like to see pics of any Heritage , whenever possible. Enjoy the site and check out the galleries if you want to see a variety of Heritage axes....

  14. Hello all! I've been lurking in the background while waiting for my guitar to arrive. It's here and I am glad to say I am official. Quite enamored with this first one. It speaks volumes!

    Welcome aboard MatZen..!!

We are glad that you came out of lurking.. And a nice start it is with those pics....

That's just some excellent looking lumber in that one... Congrats on the new guitar.

And I do like the stinger also....!!!!

That amp/ guitar combo must put out some serious tone...

  15. Well this is my first time at a group meeting,.........I uh,....I have a problem,.....I LOVE my guitar. It isn't shiny,or new,but it is a heritage.A 1987 H137 dot inlays, what I believe is ebony fretboard,Pearley Gates pups, coil split mod on both humbuckers(push pull pots)The most comfortable neck I have ever played.I have tried to do research on this guitar, with not much luck.Picked her up at a little place not far from here, and she was soon letting me have my way with her;{)

Hello and Welcome Pawpaw... That guitar looks like it rocks... just has that "play me" look. And it sounds like some tasty mods have made it even better... Pearlys and coil splits... very nice.

  16. Hello Sorax...

We're glad that you found us here at the HOC... Great way to start off, with some history and great pics of a great axe.

And...yes , the ALM refers to the Almond Sunburst finish that shows off that flamed maple top so well.

The matching pickguard and the stinger are nice touches also. (the black area on the back of the headstock)

Welcome ...look around here and you will find many interesting things about Heritage....

  17. Welcome to the HOC , Tim... (fsbluz)

We're glad that you came out of lurking and posted. Of course we will want to hear all about the new 535 !!!

Interesting story that you have there about the frets on the Larry Carlton 335.... very interesting.

Your old workhorse guitar , the 335TD , sounds like a nice axe... hopefully you bond with your 535 just as much. (or more)

These Parsons St, Kalamazoo guitars have the mojo that Gibby had in the early days. I believe that you will be quite pleased...

  18. Greetings all! I've been playing acoustic guitar for a while now but have been developing an interest in diversifying a little. I am interested in a 535, but thought I would lurk for a while and see what I can learn first.

    Bill

Welcome to the HOC , Bill (greybee).

This is a great spot to get introduced to the Heritage mojo. Lurk away and even join in... Good luck, check out some posts or spend some time in the Gallery.. I find lots to like in there. And some of the newest Heritages are quite awe inspiring...

  19. Welcome sparkipeat and Duffy to the HOC.

Pete, yes a neptune blue Heritage will get everyones attention.. beautiful finish. ( have you posted a pic yet? )

In the case of the muddy pickup, many would suggest replacements, I encourage you to spend time adjusting (height and polepieces) to verify that maybe you couldn't be happier with some fine-tuning to the pickup. But there are tons of great replacement pu's out there also.

And yes it appears that pretty much everything is going out with the more conventional Tone-Pros hardware. I am one that doesn't mind the schaller, but find it looks different on styles that we are not used to seeing it on (especially the tailpiece)

Duffy, Lots of interesting stuff there.. it is a great time to find a Heritage. The prices are great right now.

Also.. if you guys want to see some cool Heritage pics... cruise through the Gallery. Lots of great pics in there.
