I just moved into my new studio which is a smaller room, so I bought some shelves to save floor space, get the amps off of the floor, and make them easy to access. I found these cheap shelves at Wayfair. I was a little worried they would be too flimsy, but after putting them together, installing the center struts to stiffen the frames, and doubling up on the wood shelves, they are just fine. After putting together the three individual racks, I bolted them all together, which also stiffened them up. A bonus was that I had some extra room for mic boxes that were piling up on the floor by my recording racks:)

When I record, I will take the amp(s) that I'm using off of the shelf, as I like the way they record on the floor...

    Amps are...

Frenzel Super Deluxe Head, Clark Beaufort Deluxe (5E3), Mesa DC-2, Vox AC-15 Handwired, Fender Handwired Reverb Unit Clone (6K6 version), Dirty Girl Reverb (Supro Style 6973 tubes), Tophat Club Deluxe, Victoria Regal II, 1969 Vibro Champ, Fender Princeton Reverb Clone Handwired with vintage Fender transformers (Winnie Thomas), 1964 Fender Deluxe Reverb.

    That works!

Hello all, I’m new here! In real life two of my favorite things are coffee and guitar. I just recently bought a custom core h-150 in dirty lemon burst… I posted some pics in another thread, here’s one of the pics of from my NGD lol

Hi , I have just joined the group .

I have retired from Melbourne , Australia to a small regional town but still get to play my H530 occasionally in an amateur band of old school mates. I have gone through a few guitars to find the one and the H530 is THE one for me .. light , great tone and no feedback at our realistic playing  levels. The rest of the band love the sound too.

My first introduction to Heritage was during a visit to Rudys music store in NYC in 2014. I went there to see the amazing array of new and vintage archtops . Played a few acoustics and then a 1998 American Eagle was thrust into my hand . I could not believe the acoustic tone as well as the nice "Johnny Smith" sound from the pickup . I had to have it , and the wife agreed , so it came home with a lot of care from the Air New Zealand crew. The AE does not get gigged and rarely leaves the house.

From that day forward i was looking for my next Heritage but until a few years ago there were no Heritage dealers in all of Australia. Now there is a distributor and quite a few boutique retailers around , though stock is hard to find.

Happy New Year from Campbells Creek , Victoria, Australia

Welcome! One of our long time members is from the Western side of Australia. Keep a lookout in the For Sale section of this web site as members here routinely post used Heritage guitars for sale.

Hi there... I'm Geno. - originally from the deep south,  live now in the DC area (Maryland).

I recently picked up my first Heritage guitar, a very nice 2003 H535 that the previous owner had modified with Wolfetone Dr. Vintage pickups.   Very impressed.  Makes me want to find a good H150 now...  I will be lurking in the marketplace.

I'm 55 years old, retired from the Navy Submarine Service 16 years ago, and currently work as a DoD contractor.   My background is in Underwater Acoustics, but spend most of my time these days climbing Cell towers to install gadgets for Uncle Sam.

I've been playing guitar for 37 years, and in bands for the past 20 years pretty consistently (work permitting).   Cover bands, classic rock, blues, country, oldies, etc.   I prefer have always preferred Vintage Tube amps, but for the past year and a half, I've been gigging exclusively with a Line 6 helix and really like it.  No more heavy cabs for me - the Helix has cured my amp and pedal GAS, so I have more $$ now to buy guitars.

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

  5. Hey y'all I'm warriorpoet. Been a long time Harmony Central poster, though not as much lately now that I play for a living.

I don't actually own a Heritage yet (put down those stones...), but I'm working on it.

I'm looking forward to many pretty pictures and irristible GAS attacks.

Also good advices. Many, many good advices.

    Welcome!

  6. Hi all.

I finally joined the club after checking it out off & on for a couple years. I'm from Edmonton (western) Canada. Started playing electric guitar when I was in grade school, and the sound still gets me right in the chest - and it's all I need to feel better. Lacking in talent and long hair though...

My wife grew up about 2 hours north of Kalamazoo so now I'm a Michigan convert, although I'm 3000 kilometers/1900 miles away. Spent a few weeks in MI this summer for a wedding, but didn't get to tour as Heritage shutdown for first 2 weeks of July. It was on our list though!

Having serious GAS right now as a couple months ago found a H157 Amber on Ebay, an hour away from my house for $799 US$...and let it get away! Yes - i'm still ticked!...and questioning my sanity.

Hopefully good things to come! Take it easy.

    Welcome!!

  7. Hi, I was directed to here from the Jazz Guitar forum. I am soon hoping to be an owner, I have been playing guitar for 40 years in bursts and lulls. I have been focusing on learning jazz for the last 15 years. I have family connections at Kalamazoo and Battle Creek but still have not had the chance to visit/tour the Heritage plant (hopefully soon). Cheers.

Hi everyone, my name is Mike!

I just bought a heritage H-150 LW (though I didn't know it was chambered at the time, that was a surprise). It's a used one that was originally sold by wolfe, has the case, certificates etc... somebody yanked the stock pickups and put in some WCR Fillmores.

Anyways, I been playing for over 40 years now, and have owned numerous les pauls, including 70s, 80s, 90s, and millennials too, both production and custom shop. At some point I just felt like my gibsons were "worth more than they were worth" and I sold them. lol. I guess the word I was looking for was "overvalued".

I've played some heritages over the years - but this is the first one I bought. Well, actually I traded a black prs mccarty standard for it. I was after a big fat 50's neck, and this guitar has a great 59 carve. The McCarty was a weenie carve in comparison. The H-150 neck is spectacular. I am pretty sure this guitar, a black and tan, belonged to a forum member here - I get lots of hits on black and tan with WCR Fillmores from this website.

I'm struggling with the tone - but I think it's all the swaps that have happened to the guitar, so I am going to post in the normal forums and get some advice on pulling it back together.

Just thought I'd be polite first and say, hello!

  8. Hello there. My name is Doug, I live in Austin. The first Heritage I had was a 140 back in the early 90's. It was ok, but I was under the spell of Gibsons. Fast forward, now my main guitar is a 2003 (nov 10th, first of the day) H-150. Beat but sweet. I'll post sound clips later. Thanks for having me as a member!

That is certainly a player's guitar. Welcome!

  9. Joined this forum several months ago as a means to learning about Heritage guitars. I had intention to pickup a 535. Last Friday I drove over to Kalamazoo to Kal-Tone and purchased this beauty. Met some fine people, fell in love with the town and came home with this fine instrument,

    Fantastic! Welcome!

  10. Hello players,

I'm profgumby here, but my friends call me Swen. Have been playing since 1964, but not very often due to "life" responsibilities; raising kids, restoring old houses, work (see, work is last), and stuff like that. Starting to think retirement, and don't want to spend the rest of my life watching TV - I'll play guitar instead :-)

So, I just sold my '73 Gibson L6-S (black-perfect) and Martin DC1-E - and picked up a new Heritage H535 in natural finish. An ES-335 has been on my bucket list for roughly 30 years, and I finally bit the bullet after playing a '535 a few months back but went with the Heritage instead. But I have a question for the group.

The L6-S had a bit of buckle rash, and I'd like to prevent that on the Heritage. I've been surfing the net, and came up with quite a few "finish protectors" for the back of the guitar.

Any comments/recommendations on rash protection would be appreciated.

    Ciao'

    profgumby

Welcome! Wear an untucked tshirt and or move your buckle off center away from the body of your guitar (above your front pants pocket on under the headstock side of your guitar.) If people ask you why your buckle is off center, just tell them you play guitar and they'll understand. I always have a tactical knife clipped onto the front pocket of my pants (on the guitar body side) which I always have to remember to take off and lay on top of the amp while I play.

  11. Exactly one week ago today I joined the ranks of proud Heritage Guitar owners.

I bought an amazing used H-555 online. I have had 1 week with it to compare and contrast it to my other guitars using 3 different amps. I have to say that it is everything that I have ever dreamed of tone wise, sustain wise, neck playability wise and obviously looks and craftsmanship wise. I have a rehearsal this weekend with my band (3 piece) and can't wait to test drive it. I have noticed a few "personality traits" or "nuances" with this guitar that are all positives, but in the coming months I want to seek to understand them using this forum.

I feel like it was totally meant to be that me and this guitar were to become really good buddies!

    Welcome!!

  12. Hello lovers of all things Heritage. My name is Mark and I am currently waiting on my first Heritage guitar to arrive.

Its going to be a Lefty 535 in OSB and I cant wait to play it. First Heritage I played was at a young age and have wanted ever one since.

I will post pics when it comes in.

    -Mark

    That's great! Welcome!

  13. Hello you guys.

I am a new member,, just dropped in a few weeks ago, looking for something special.

I have owned an H575 since 1995 and I still love that guitar. My story is, after a few days and posting a message that I was in the market for a sweet 16, i was contaced by a member who had a Johnny Smith for sale.

I made the right choice and now that guitar is here with me. It plays and sounds better than anything I hve ever had in my hands, including a Guild X500 that I fell for in 95 - but could not afford.

Thanks to my wife (this is an early anniversary gift) - like the 575 was 20 years ago.

We don't go out much, but will be playing with a few friends and we lovereal book tunes (ol school jazz standards).

    Yeah man...

    Rich

    (sorry no pictures yet)

Hi, brand new here, brand new to Heritage, brand new to playing, Just brand spanking new to everything guitar related. I'm 67, love blues, and rock, and actually all kinds of music. I started taking lessons in November, know the chords to 7 songs,LOL and I've bought 19 guitars so far, sold 10 so currently have 8 counting the Heritage H-150 that I just received today. Basically I have more guitars than I can play chords... I'm sure you'll agree that there's nothing wrong with that. Perfectly normal She's a beauty and sounds outstanding. Not a mark that can be given a name and is exceptional. The previous owner seems to be selling all his guitars and I was lucky enough to get this one. She's a 2005 H-150 with Sperzel solid pro tuners, Ivory paddles, Sheptone PAF pickups, Tribute

He went by the name willpreachforfood, on the site I purchased through. Seems like a great guy, certainly described the guitar well and honestly. Great transaction. Said he was selling 20 Heritage guitars. He suggested this forum I haven't taken any pics yet but can post the sale pics, you might recognize it.

Wonder why he's selling all these great guitars.. Hope all is well with him.

Look forward to getting to know you guys and gals and I'm open to any and all advice.

    WELCOME ALL!!!

  14. Hi

Just joined the forum - obviously :newbie:

    I own a 2004 H535 tobacco sunburst and a 2006 H150 Deluxe Old Style Sunburst.

I bought them both new (new old stock), in 2006 and 2010 respectively.

I play them at home through a Matchless Lightning Reverb and a number of analog effect pedals.

I also own an Ernie Ball Silhouette Special 2006 anniversary edition, SSH, for different sounds, and a couple of accoustic guitars.

I'm a very ordinary player and have never gigged. I do play with mates every now and then, mostly bluesy and traditional ballady rock stuff. I've started jazz lessons to open my horizons and really enjoy it.

    Cheerio.

The H535 and the H150 are a great combination of guitars! Welcome!

  15. A (hopefully) future Heritage owner here.

I was looking around for a U.S.-made semi-hollow and thinking about a used Guild Starfire IV when I ran across some pictures of an H-535 in Vintage Wine Burst that I think is one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen. I've been a fan of Heritage Guitars almost since their founding and made it a point to drive by the factory on a trip through Michigan in 1986, but I have never owne a Heritage before. Hopefully this will change soon.

Does anyone know if Heritage is still doing the Vintage Wine Burst finish? The color listing on the company's web site seems like it's pretty old and I'm hoping that they still offer this finish. I may order through the Custom Shop to get the guitar that I want (moderately beefy neck, Kluson-style tuners and Seth Lover pickups).

I'm enjoying this site quite a bit, especially the photos from the Parsons Street Pilgramages.

Welcome! Yes, Vintage Wineburst is said to be Marv's favorite finish. (True or false I don't know.) You can special order a new 535 in VWB if you can't find a stocking dealer who has one.

  16. Ok, I'll bite. Sfax here, Doug in real life. Been an acoustic player for some years, decided before I got too old I'd better explore the electric side. I have a Gibson Faded Standard and use the MyLesPaul forum mostly for educational purposes. Heritage gets mentioned enough that I figured I'd explore their products. I've got some GAS for a non-solid body guitar, so here I am. It's clear Heritage makes beautiful guitars and just as soon as I decide on the model I'll have one. Thanks for the welcome.

Welcome! A Heritage H-535 would be a great start.

  17. ok, my name is mike, i started playing guitar in around 72',in my early teens i was listening to jazz, solo and quartet stuff,..i spent a lot of years doing the full tilt boogie groove,a few years in oakland playing soul and blues and had a full tilt trio for a while known as the "point zero one band" recording that scene would have been like capturing lightning in a bottle..any how, i write or rather have written allot, now, i'm in the old bull stage,at 56 years old, i'm still an ass kicker, but i've slowed down and am diggin my jazz roots again, i knew billy bauer and jimmie raney, also howie collins, they all gave me good advice on style, and i've had great experiences with blues and soul musicians too..having the northern irish blood gives me a different take on things, and i dig that..i can rip a nation resonator to shreds, and bleed a 335 to death,i been breathin this thing for over four decades,i'm self taught, and i study things the way i see them..i'm always feeling it..i don't have any bullshit aspirations...i simply am and will remain an expressionist..i work with what i have..i been shining on my 575 lately and it looks like that's where i'll be for a good while..glad you're all here,,it sure is nice to have common denominators. mike ps "if it sounds good, then it is good"

    Welcome ironmike! Great story!
