rjsanders Posted January 7, 2011 Share Posted January 7, 2011 most xlnt. what make & model of power tubes do you have? the original EL34s work well w/everything, but i'm looking for something '59 tweed Bassman -> early JTM45 (bluesbreaker). the only diffs between the two are parts, speaker configs, amount of negative feedback (MOOD) my favorite config: power tubes: 5881 rectifier: 5U4 SAG MOOD: 1 o'clock PRESENCE: 12 o'clock BASS: 9 o'clock MIDDLE: 3 o'clock TREBLE: 12 o'clock both VOLs: 1 o'clock both switches: US tubes&rectifier knock output down to the 30-40w range and lands in a sonic area between the two amps Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When i'm a 9 o clock, my ears are bleeding!!!! ... and then you turn it up just a lee-tle bit more... (remember, i'm in the 30's, not the full 50w ) and then you try 6L6s...and KT77s...and...
