DetroitBlues
I just ordered from Sweetwater, the IK Multimedia iRig Stomp. I've been waiting for a sturdy device that I can use with the Amplitube, Ampkit, and Garage Band applications on my iPod/iPad. The previous interface units were flimsy or noisey. For $60 shipped with a free 2 year warranty, I knew I cannot go wrong.
Bulldog
Keep us posted DB. I have an irig and like it a lot, works well for those "headphone" times.

koula901
so, it's an interface to plug the guitar into, and from there to your ipod?
DetroitBlues
so, it's an interface to plug the guitar into, and from there to your ipod? Guitar > iRig Stomp > iPad > iRig Stomp > amp/pa/headphones or combination of those.
GuitArtMan
Let us know how it works. I've played with some of those things in the past and found the latency (time between when I play something and when I hear it) to be distracting.
jmac
So DB, how are you going to use it to practice? Not sure I'm up on the software for iPad/iPod and amp plug in's for the laptop..
DetroitBlues
Put your iPad or iPod on a music stand, run the cables, and you're all set. The software is at your finger tips and the interface to your gear is at your feet.
barrymclark
Yep! Let me know how that one works! I didn\'t like the first iRig for the reasons you mentioned.

barrymclark
Just watched a little demo. I may just have to get one later this year and run the stereo out into the stereo effects return of the JC120.
barrymclark
Still not using the dock connector. Oh, well. The Peavey AmpKit LiNK uses the same connector and it is whisper quiet.
