TalismanRich
At the Spart guitar show, I picked up a half dozen tubes from Mojotone. He let me have 6 for $50 which was a pretty decent deal. 1 EH 12AT7 2 Sovtek 12AX7LPS 2 TAD 12AX7s 1 Mullard 12AX7 I already had some JJs. Now, for the prize package behind door number one, which is which.

TalismanRich
Close... The 12AT7 isn't in this picture. Sovtek, Mullard, TAD, JJ. These are all 12AX7s. The Mullard and Sovtek look identical in construction. The TAD and JJ look almost identical. I don't know if the TAD is Chinese or not. I wanted to play with them in the Patriot, especially to see how the long plates compare to the short plates in the P1 slot. Also plan to use a long plate in the Phase Inverter spot, which I THINK is the tube closest to the power tubes (anyone know for sure? KBP?) That's the normal spot on the Deluxe and Super Reverbs, although Fender typically uses a 12AT7 for the PI. Unfortunately, I've been travelling so much the past 4 weeks that I haven't had time to play with it. I was lucky to get a few hours with the 525 (which sounded awesome throught Patriot.) I didn't get a chance to plug it into the Marshall or Peavey yet.
