Thickness difference

When i was putting Goldie Lox back in the rack i noticed that the 150 P and the Gary Moore 150 were not the same thickness.  I wonder why?  So i compared the thicknesses of all of them just because i was curious?

lots of variances?  seems like they would have kept things a little more uniform?

the 127 is just one piece of wood (mahogany), whereas the others are all sandwiched bodies, so that's one logical explanation...

that is the funny thing about the 127....you can see a bookmatch line on the top, but there is no line on the back.  its like it has a top over the body wood, but w/ a guitar that thin, you would think it would just be a one piece body? ???

Brent, thanks for the comparison photos and comments.

Do you notice much difference in the basic tones of these gits?

I've always thought the thicker bodied guitars had...well...thicker tone as well.  I cannot tell much differnce acoustically, but amplified, there just seems to be more from the fatter bodies.  This was my experience with Ibanez Artists.  How do your Heritage's fare in this area?
