H Posted November 17, 2013 Share Posted November 17, 2013 Well the. String was not long enough to solder back together. What I ended up doing was using the longer end and soldering it directly to one of the screw heads on the pickup. I'm not sure I like how it sounds, it kinda just makes a thumping sound,but I'm gonna give it some time, maybe I'll get use to it! Of course it sounds thumpy, you haven't completed the circuit! Any idiot knows that the SHORT side of the string has to be soldered to the adjacent pickup slug! I saw it on Sesame Street once. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Instead, buy six low E strings and use those to string the guitar. They are the thickest and least likely to break. (This is a joke; nobody should ever do this!)
