One suggestion for your tests; at each level of attenuation, tune the amp again; just as you would do if you had a static attenuator. Then record and compare. I'm interested. Thanks for doing this! I agree. Check out the a new version of my demo video (link below). I compare the exact same guitar input across various attenuation levels. The difference is almost imperceptible in the recording.
