cod65
anybody know of a good pegwinder that doesn't hack up the nitro on the sides of the headstock? I get impatient on the re-string and the winders tend to hack at the finish on the sides.

tulk1
Maybe it's not the winder? ......... I use this thing.
High Flying Bird
I carry a small battery operated screwdriver in my gig bag. I use a plastic winder that goes into a drill instead of the off set handles you usually see at stores. The Spin Doctor

212Mavguy
I learned a different way to wind, only a turn and a half per string and it stays in tune better after string bends to boot. Now I don't need a peg winder.

cod65
wow. you guys are a regular peanut gallery. I decided to use my teeth, BTW. Hendrix woulda been proud. seriously, though, I changed strings tonight and found I didnt need one anymore for some reason. Maybe becasue I ditched my Bigsby, or I've been going to thicker strings the past few yrs.
tbonesullivan
I've never had issues with the cheap dunlop plastic ones ever hitting the finish. They make installing strings SO much easier, especially on the higher strings when you need more wraps and it's hard to get them to wrap up without any overlaps. Of course, a number of my guitars have locking tuners, which means no wrapping on those.

Dick Seacup
I just chuck up the tuner heads in an electric drill and go. It's all part of my exclusive relic-ing protocol.
