Gitfiddler Posted December 9, 2011 Share Posted December 9, 2011 While I'm not a fan of that burst, the Maple seems to me as a great alternative to the usual Spruce top. The Maple top might brighten up an otherwise dark tone of a large bodied archtop. Maple tops are standard on 16" bodied 575's, so why try it on a 17" GE? I'd like to hear that one.
