bigfatarthur Posted April 17 Posted April 17 So, I bought a H 101 about 30 years back. I played around with it for a bit and has ended up in a cupboard for a long long time. Before there's any castigation about that being irresponsible behaviour, I've found it again and thinking about treating it to a new set of strings. Does anybody know anything about these? There are some old threads about them being rare and some time back I called the factory whereby some guy said something like ' oh yeah, I remember them, didn't make many' almost as if the H101/104 were forgotten. Anyhow, I bought the thing in 1987 (or thereabouts I think), never seen another in the flesh, whenever I ask guitar shops about it, I get blank faces, or 'it looks like a Kramer'. If that is the case, were these made up from bits and pieces that were laying about ?. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to use it more, but I never found it the easiest of guitars to play.... Any information gratefully accepted. Fat Arthur
TalismanRich Posted April 17 Posted April 17 There's not a lot of info out there on the 101. There was a thread on it from 10 yrs back.
DetroitBlues Posted Tuesday at 06:34 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:34 PM I may be mistaken, but here is what I remember/assumptions: Mahogany Body with a Strat-like body Bolt-On Maple Neck Banana Headstock Bill Lawerence Humbucker Bridge Pickup Single Volume Control Only 24.75" Scale Maple Fretboard Fixed Tele-like bridge Some weird fuzzy like paint finish. Does that sound about right? I believe this is bare-bones student model like guitar. My guess is this developed from the short-lived idea of Heritage building Fender guitars.
bolero Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago It's all about the bananas baby. Too bad the Andy Warhol signature model never saw the light of day. Come Mr Tallyman, tally my bananas. Day-oh. Daayaayay-Oh. Daylight come and I want to go home.
bolero Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago apparently if you duct tape the headstock, the gtr is worth more money to collectors
