  1. Just order some PIO's from Ebay or somewhere and wait a few days.
  2. You will be fine. Just go slowly. Make sure the pots are hot before you apply solder. Tin the connections to the back of the pot. I prefer a 50's wiring scheme. There are many diagrams out there. Just Google 50s Les Paul wiring diagram. You will save quite a bit of money by doing it yourself. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. If you overheat a part and have to buy a new one, consider that tuition. Best of luck. Don't be afraid to ask us questions.
  3. Schallers are very good pickups. It's just a matter of taste.
  4. It may be a bit of chemistry, but guitars are all physics and geometry.
  5. That's a good price on that station. I bought one similar to that about 6 months ago. I'll never go back to a regular iron.
  6. It's legit. I've ordered a few sets from Wolfetone recently. Excellent customer service and fast turnaround. Wolfe wants to make sure that things are right for you so he will work with you. And the prices are very fair. And I agree about the 59's. They are better when you swap the A5 magnet for A2, but I really wish the factory would use Seths as the standard or use proprietary pickups like the Harmony and the CC lines. If they can get a good pickup for the Harmonys and keep the price where they are, they should be able to do the same with the 150 line. And I have a Harmony Rebel. The stock pickups are great.
  7. Orange Drops are about average to high average. They are really similar to just about every other poly film cap dipped in some bright orange plastic. Fun fact: for most repairs that I do, I use poly film caps that I buy in bulk from electronic supply places on ebay, etc. Sonically, they just aren't that different. I use PIO caps for repairs and people that I care about and people that pay extra for them.
  8. The Orange Drop caps could also be improved to Mojo PIO or something similar. Even Epiphone uses orange drops. Again, when I'm paying for a premium guitar, I expect premium parts. And I agree that the pickguard should be real wood.
  9. Beautiful guitar, but the tuning heads just look odd to me. They look like something I'd find in a Chinese import. I would at least expect Grover locking tuners or Hipshots on such a high end instrument.
  10. Really, really nice. Glad that you bought it. If it stayed there long enough, I might have. And I really don't need one.
  11. I had a 150P for a bit. Fantastic guitar. It was beat to hell so I didn't care if I abused it a little more. Sadly, I had to sell it. I would really like to get that one back.
  12. They are sold as CTS push/pull pots here in the US. 500k, 525k, 550k are all good. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/W3500002--mojo-tone-cts-push-pull-potentiometer-short-shaft-500k?mrkgadid=984185277&mrkgcl=28&mrkgen=gdsa&mrkgbflag=0&mrkgcat=generic&acctid=21700000001645388&dskeywordid=39700048800210508&lid=39700048800210508&ds_s_kwgid=58700005371980883&device=c&network=g&matchtype=b&adpos&locationid=9021573&creative=452849193005&targetid=dsa-824852042819&campaignid=6730319002&awsearchcpc=1&gclsrc=aw.ds&&rkg_id=0&campaigntype=dsa&campaign=aaDSA&adgroup=984185277%3ADSA+-+Product&placement=google
  13. Audio taper pots using 50's wiring. That will allow a gradual increase in volume. I'm not familiar with the Bareknuckle pots. I prefer CTS. I'm partial to .022 caps for humbuckers. Really, any good cap will do. They can be orange drops, or, if you prefer, PIO. I buy them in bulk from the Ukraine because they are less expensive that way. But a lot of suppliers sell caps.
