  2. Yeah, I've been very curious about this as well. These new Standard II models seem to be falling into the same weight ranges as the Custom Core models, but I do know that the CC models are solid while using lighter-weight mahogany. I just purchased an H-150 "Build 1215" directly from Heritage, and it weighs in at around 7.75 pounds. There's another one currently for sale on the Pasadena Craiglist website that's claiming a 7.3-pound weight. I do know that these "1215" builds use the lighter mahogany while also routing out a chamber in the lower-left bout of the guitar to reach this kind of weight. With that being said, I was talking with Mike earlier this week about how they did the weight-relief routing on the 1215, and he hinted toward the idea that I should look at the announcement scheduled for yesterday because he thought that Heritage might post some images of how they're routed. That obviously didn't happen, but to me it's sounding as though the Standard II models may be using the heavier mahogany that's typically used for their Standard line but then routed to relieve some of the weight. I clearly don't know if this is correct or not, but it would be easy to tell if one were to tap a fingernail over the routed area to hear the hollowed chamber........that is, if someone can get their hands on one.
  3. I wonder what the weight relief scheme is for these guitars. I don't think they will be full chambered bodies. I remember when Heritage came out with the LW guitars. I don't remember ever seeing what their chambering scheme was. The Guild Bluesbird was designed as a chambered guitar. Of course the Millennium is chambered and it sounds great. Heritage obviously has the history to know that the mahogany part of the body needs to weigh to achieve a target weight.

  5. I like this plan. 🙂 While I can't guarantee that I'll be able to make it next year, I do hope to be back for more in the future. Almost didn't make it this year, since it didn't look like I was going to get the time off from work. If it were to somehow work out that we could get that jam in at a non-PSP event in the future, I'd be game for that as well. Glad to hear that your 530 is settled in and getting plenty of attention!
  6. Those must have been older Standards. I see two Dirty Lemons at 8lb 11ox and 8lb 7oz, a Bourbon Burst at 8lb 14oz and 2 in Wine Red at 8lb 3oz and 8lb 11oz. So that's right about 1lb lighter than the standards which run in the 9s. The Custom shop and Custom Cores seem to run in the mid to upper 8s. These are the Lemon Bursts.
  7. I just looked around on Sweetwater and it appears they have these in stock in several finishes. I didn't look at them all but the lightest one I saw was 9 lbs 7 oz and the heaviest was 9 lbs 15 oz.
  8. wow, look at that!! congrats
  9. Very, very nice, enjoy.

  11. Things come full circle. My 00 Heritage 150, now 25 years old, has a 60’s slim taper neck. Back then I believe most were.
  12. Identical to mine Larry

Will do, Rich! Loving it already!
  14. Alright! You can join DaveCTOK and myself on a big H-530 jam next year!!!!
  15. Beautiful! Happy NGD. Nice snatch BWB!
  16. Yesterday
  17. I think these look really nice and I’m excited about the 60’s neck. I think I’m developing arthritis because my hand will start cramping after about 30 minutes on my H-150. Definitely wanting one in chestnut or dirty lemon.
  18. Yes . . . I changed my thinking and got a 530 for more variety. It came today and I'm glad to have it!
  19. just off the Fedex truck!
  20. 60's slim taper neck profile on the new 'Standard II Collection" models?? Maybe they're targeting youngsters looking for their first guitar. I begged for a guitar when I was 12, so I get it. As long as Heritage continues to offer thicker necks as an option across the product line, I see this as no big deal.
  21. The necks were already too skinny.
  22. I'm guessing at least a pound. Did you get to hear Pete Farmer when he was pointing out the different select pieces of mahogany. They had the ones for Standards, then for Custom Cores, and then over on the other rack, were the "hold these for special things". Once Sweetwater gets in the Standard II guitars, you'll see exactly how much difference there is since they post the weights of the guitars.
  23. I wonder what the average delta is between weight relieved and non-weight relieved.
  24. I thought they were closing up shop and moving everything to Guangdong China. Next year's PSP was going to be held at the Country Inn in Guangzhou with a tour of the tin shack where all the guitars are made! Man, the rumors that get started on the internet! You just don't know who to believe anymore. As for the Standard II collection, I kinda like the idea. In-house pickups is a good thing. Keep those winders going. I would have to feel the neck... I don't need a Louisville Slugger but a little bit of beef seems to give a bit more stablility. Weight relief is a good thing. Witness the recent purchase of my H-530. Much more weight relief and I would be playing air guitar!
  25. "I'm underwhelmed" he said in true curmudgeonly fashion . . .
  26. Strange the video doesn’t say anything about the features of the guitar but the email does:
