Factory 2nd also. Looks like a U or a V to me.

Pull the control cover and check there. It should be written there. The numbers are 00402. It's hard to tell if the letter is a Q or not. There was a point where their stamp was getting pretty well worn. It made some of the serial number unreadable. For a bit, they wrote them out by hand, then they got a new stamp. They had to do that when they got to AA serials anyway.

Ridden hard and put away wet. Kidding I consider statements from the seller as suspect. We know the neck and body lumber being inaccurate. Unscrewing the control plate confirms what Rich and I noticed from the photo. Not the first time a seller reported only driven on Sundays to church by a little old lady.

I talked to Marv about this. Keep in mind that he left in 2015. He does not recall this at all but, he was not around then. I would imagine Pete might know something about this.

....except for the listing says "barely played". I guess it could have been played by one of JP Moats' relatives since it was made a year after his death.

Rich, Not surprised a 10 year old guitar has nickel or chrome hardware with a patina, is dirty and looks aged. Might be an indication it was played and loved rather that left under the bed.

Ok, we already discussed that the neck is Korina. I guess the back is as well. We didn't have a shot of the back before, but that would make sense. The serial number puts it at about April 28th 2016, 2nd guitar assigned that day. I'm surprised it says Duncan 59s. They look aged, or very dirty.

Asked the seller a couple questions to help the OP out… Anyone spot something interesting?

A week and a half ago, the guitar player that joined us on stage used a Fender Twin Tonemaster. He sounded really good. Definitely had a dialed in rig, audiences or even other guitar players wouldn't have known what he was using unless you look. On a side note, I've seen his band play, he drags out a tube driven Fender Twin and a Tonemaster Fender Twin. He has one blasting the audience and the other blasting the band.....

The strap button move was a good idea.

Its rather unique for sure. Reminds me of my H535 from 2016.

Installed a set of vintage Gibson pickups in my 2017 Heritage H535 Custom this morning. In the bridge…a 1981 Gibson Shaw PAF 7.30. In the neck…an early 70s Gibson T-top PAF 7.15. I gotta say, I like the tone of these pickups in this guitar A LOT better than the last guitar I had them in. (IYV hollow body). I have tried a few different styles of pickups in this H535. It originally came with Duncan Seth’s, which sounded great. Then I had a set of 70s DiMarzios in it and those were great too…but definitely a different flavor. And now the ol’ Gibsons. So far, I’d have to say, the gibsons are more balanced and versatile of the 3 sets!

I’ll bet you a dollar to a donut hole that Guitar was probably a custom one off that was special ordered by someone that was very close with either Jim or Bill or Marv or REN

AG serial number was 2016. J.P. Moats was long gone by then. RIP I don't know. ????
