I built this one a few weeks ago with an Allen Eden alder body and a MIJ 87 Squier neck. After reading this, I upgraded the bridge pickup to a BG1400 with a Duncan P90 that I had in the parts drawer. Holy cow! This combination screams! At some point, I may decide to rebuild this with a swamp ash body (it would have to be slightly worn shell pink) to make it lighter. But this guitar is amazing!1 point

Probably the same way that Kris Derrig did when he made the Les Paul that Slash used. It's unlikely Gibson will come after you if you make a couple of guitars, but start making a bunch and the lawyers will be working overtime sending cease and desist orders. The problem comes in when you start selling it as a Gibson.1 point
