If you have a Dremel with a buffing wheel, you might be able to put it on the slowest speed and run it inside the holes. You need the smallest one, tho since the F-holes are usually under 1/2 inch at the narrowest part.

If it comes of easily, it's probably buffing compound. I doubt anything would be growing there.

On a personal level, I do not believe that level of finish is satisfactory for what is supposed to be a high quality instrument.

Mark, he bought that guitar used.

It didn't come from the factory that way.

I would be willing to bet anything, that the white stuff is guitar polish or cleaner used but the previous owner to clean the top.

I'm still going with an ill advised stash of blow. I would scrape it off, snort it, then comment further . . . . if coherently possible.

Now . . . . to be more serious . . .. . the fact that it seems to be growing from the inside laminate concerns me. It very well may be some kind of a glue reaction. I guess we should all just wait until Mark has a chance to let Ren look at it.

You may be right.

I sprayed the areas with Fender Guitar Polish then dabbed some lemon oil as solvents on the spots. I used a soft toothbrush on parts then rubbed vigorously with a cleaning cloth.

The stuff came off.

This is not a quick job. There are narrower parts that a toothbrush won't access. But at least I know it will come off.

I could get out my Dremel. Maybe someday.

Now you might have tooth paste in your f-holes. ;-(

Try a new Electric tooth brush, would be better than a Dremel.

Is that anything like "most of the dishes in the dishwasher are clean" ?

Or, posting a sign that says, "one of these watermelons is poisoned" just to find a new sign the next morning that says, "two of these watermelons are poisoned."
