Has anybody purchased the new generation H-170?

Just wanted to get some input on this one.

Dreaming about a build. Always dreaming about a build. I think I have a problem.

Thanks

Man, I love Lance's 170... but it is a custom-custom.

Not only a really deep dish, but an extra thick body also makes it really unique... not to mention the finish or the 3 mini buckers, etc...

My 170 has a thicker maple cap to accommodate the extra deep dish carve. And you are correct the color is a one off custom, the heritage kids dubed it the "cherry tomato burst".

and it does have three mini hums, and a bigsby, and a tummy (gut) cut on the back. and a ebony board, and a bound neck and headstock with the 555 inlay in MOP.

and there is strange writing in the body cavity under the pups.

As for second generation 170's

GO FOR IT.. I just loves mine!

I loved Lance's 170. I got to play it for a little while when we went to my buddy's place to play. It is a really nice guitar.

I think mark has a gold top!! let's see that beauty...

Yes... MORE..

Hey Lance, didn't we determine that your 170 has a thicker rim thickness , more like a 150... where they are usually like a 140...?

Also,, the handle on that Bigsby looks customized also...

My 170 is thicker than any heritage solid body at 2 1/4 thick , the new 170's should be the same as a 150 or a 150 lw.. and she is heavy.. but the sustain is ... well ... KILLER

Hey.. the site says the current spec for a 170 is 1 1/2 inch rim thickness.

So it would be quite a bit different than yours.

I like the way that yours is made....

it would be a good consideration is someone is spec-ing out a custom one.

Mine has a 2" rim thickness on the wide part, think by the controls, and 2 1/4 at the neck/heel.. sounds great...
