God I love that guitar! I would love a 170 with a color like that. This forum just has porn for days!!!!

I have a '85 170 that I can sell you. I recently had it refretted.

I would love that, but for now & the foreseeable future, I am done buying guitars. I appreciate the offer! That's beautiful. Love double cutaways!

I've been tryting to figure out for YEARS what my "Holy Grail" H-150 might be and I'm still tweaking the specs in my head.

I wish you well in your endeavor and hope your decision making process does not take as long as mine is taking.

I've tried to do that a couple of times, but haven't managed to nail it down yet, I keep changing my mind.

I might have to try the 80% rule.

If I can get the specs at least 80% perfect...

80% is better than zero% waiting for whether or not 100% perfect ever comes around.

Yes but the some juicy must have gizmo comes along, mini humbuckers, Lollartrons etc. that really muddies up the thought process.

Hangar, it's the thrill of the chase, let's hope we never get there, just closer!

Can i join the 'Burst Competition? :)

Here's my 25th anniversary H-150.

First how it arrived (2nd hand, eBay), next after changing mounting rings,

pickguard and putting in the Joe Bonamassa signature pickup. I totally love this baby:)

Nailed it. Put an ABR-1 on that and it's a Burst.

If you ask me, the neck pu is the best neck humbucker that I ever played, period. Just awesome!

Not sure about the bridge yet. I might put the Duncan back to the bridge just to find out. It's different for sure. I play old school metal with the band and mostly bluesy stuff at home. It won't work for the band, so I never used it in the rehearsal room yet, but hardly play any other guitar at home... The neck is a 10 out of 10, the bridge a matter of taste. It works great withe the little Vox AC4, but is very different on the, ahem, Marshall YJM 100 in the other room.

About twenty years ago I had a Marshall Anniversary combo, not sure which maybe the 30th, and that was a beast of an amp a 100W combo with 1 X 12 speaker.

Typical Marshall, didn't sound like much at low volume at all but when it was turned up it was awesome.

Nice Schroerg, do you know what finish that is? Love to hear some clips. I bet it does sound great on the Vox.

No idea what kind of finish this might be. Depending on the angle it looks like the G on the cover of Beauty of the Burst or more 2 tone sunburst. I only read, that the 25th anniversary tops are upgraded. This one surely is. And I love, that the flames are not perfect. For my taste, perfect is boring.
